We have a house full of button noses. This happens to be my youngest, Meagans. She will be 4 on Thursday. :)
french knots, bullion knots, karen's web on silk dupion - 'coton a broder' 16, perle 12 and 8 - for size 29mm
I got my new coat yesterday, and the button came off in my hand. Trying to fix it this morning, I discovered why - a broken loop on the back. Hopefully the company will send me a replacement....
EDIT: The fine people at Soul Revolver Coats anticipated this need and put a little packet of buttons in the inside pocket. I think I've just outed myself as someone who doesn't buy nice clothes very often.... They very kindly answered my email and are sending me some buttons anyway.
20 years old... today she was running and playing in the yard and would go part way up a tree just to scurry back down and pounce on some leaves. Some days... she barely moves and when she does it's like a 100 year old person creeping around! :-)
I finally got a bulletin board for my badge/button/pin collection. It will be way easier than digging them out of drawers when I want to wear them, and now I can look at them too. Sorry about the crappy lighting. I will take some more pictures if the sun ever comes out again... :(

This is my entry for the Wednesday stamper challenge.
This weeks theme is Button Dolls.
The buttons and beads are made from friendly plastic.

Finished it off with rhinestones.
I think these will become kitschy cocktail rings.
They're made of vintage and new buttons, plastic flower parts, and freshwater pearls or swarovski rhinestones in the centers.
I've made these as stocking fillers for my daughter. I must love her lots to part with my vintage buttons!
A button found on a hiking trail somewhere in West Virginia. On the back is some writing in Cyrillic, including "CCCP". Probably from a Russian military greatcoat or something of the sort.
I actually cheated and got this picture on my scanner. Much easier since I don't have a decent macro camera.
The centre is a metallic button which I coloured with inks. I then added 2 outside rows of polymer clay. I also placed a Swarovski crystal in the centre.
This button is from the now defunct Western Welsh Bus Company. It is stamped on the back "Manclare & Son Edinburgh".
Front and rear views.
Lettering on the back states "COLLINS LONDON" - the manufacturer.
The Cyclists' Touring Club, a British cycling club, was founded in 1878. By the 1890s it had thousands of enthusiastic members (over 60,000 in 1899), both men and women, and would include members not only in Great Britain and Europe but also on other continents. The Monthly Gazette of the 1890s was a wonderful publication, filled with correspondence, wonderful illustrations by artists such as Joseph Pennell, informative articles concerning the latest technological developments and theories, lists of hundreds of membership candidates, and even served as a touring guide with articles on various tours recently enjoyed by the members. Members' letters were published concerning countless cycle related subjects, so this also served as a precursor of todays internet news or discussion groups. And, today these publications are a real treasures for their wealth of period cycling product adverts alone. Arguably the greatest and most successful bicycling club ever formed.
I am not certain of the age of this button, but I would guess possibly 1970s.
