I finally got a bulletin board for my badge/button/pin collection. It will be way easier than digging them out of drawers when I want to wear them, and now I can look at them too. Sorry about the crappy lighting. I will take some more pictures if the sun ever comes out again... :(
This is my entry for the Wednesday stamper challenge.
This weeks theme is Button Dolls.
The buttons and beads are made from friendly plastic.
The youth, wings and background stamp are from
Finished it off with rhinestones.
I think these will become kitschy cocktail rings.
They're made of vintage and new buttons, plastic flower parts, and freshwater pearls or swarovski rhinestones in the centers.
I've made these as stocking fillers for my daughter. I must love her lots to part with my vintage buttons!
A button found on a hiking trail somewhere in West Virginia. On the back is some writing in Cyrillic, including "CCCP". Probably from a Russian military greatcoat or something of the sort.
I actually cheated and got this picture on my scanner. Much easier since I don't have a decent macro camera.
The centre is a metallic button which I coloured with inks. I then added 2 outside rows of polymer clay. I also placed a Swarovski crystal in the centre.
This button is from the now defunct Western Welsh Bus Company. It is stamped on the back "Manclare & Son Edinburgh".
Sterling silver box pendant with a Mother.of.Pearl button. Wire balled on both sides through the button, square tube bail.

These scans come from my rather large magazine collection. Instead of filling my house with old moldy magazines, I scanned them (in most cases, photographed them) and filled a storage area with moldy magazines. Now they reside on an external harddrive. I thought others might appreciate these tidbits of forgotten history.
Please feel free to leave any comments or thoughts or impressions... Thanks in advance!
This pin back button is 3 ½ inches in diameter. It was made by Button World Mfg., Inc. and carries a 1966 copyright date.
Making snowmen out of buttons :) Blogged @ rosinahuber.blogspot.com/2010/12/quilled-christmas-cards....
this is what Ada & I have been doing today, dressing the dolls in Button Arcade and taking their picture.
thanks again to my little assistant, she's amazing.
Button decided Lisa's bag was a great alternative to clothes. Especially since hers aren't finished.
She sports an egg warmer hat, and handmade merino wool felt shoes.
Princess's mother-or-pearl belly button is very fancy.

Today we had an appointment with our midwife's supervising practice to verify (in accordance with state law) that I am a viable candidate for home birth. We finally heard "Button's" heartbeat (we weren't quite far enough along at our last visit to hear), a strong, healthy heart. The feeling was so different from my last "wow, there's something LIVING inside me" feeling with my first daughter (I'm serious - all I could picture was that scene from the Matrix when the bad guys implanted that bug into Neo's belly button). But I got an extra special bonus when the midwife offered a sneak peek at no charge, so Piper could see the baby. I keep looking at the pictures and wanting to cry.
After these last few rough months, it's just SO good to SEE my baby, to know that all the yicky stuff isn't just one more health problem that I have to deal with. Look at the hands, up over the face there! The midwife said the legs were crossed... It's only about four inches long, and already, legs and fingers and heart and head and toes... I'm all weepy, but hey, it's a good thing, right?
A super fun way to use all that adorable japanese fabric I've been hoarding--er, collecting. Check out my profile for info on where to find more of my creations online. Thanks for looking!
Macro Monday (7.6.09): “What you wanna be when you grow up?”
Mom always said, "Work is only work if you'd rather be doing something else." Luckily, I'm living the dream--I was drawing when I was 4, and now I'm an Executive Creative Director in the digital world. Bigger canvases, same love of creative.
