Happy Solstice and festive period everyone. Thanks for your comments, faves and tolerance of my bad jokes. Here's to lots more of your company next year, if you can bear it.

Built c. 1876 at no. 211 East Gaston Street.

"Savannah (/səˈvænə/ sə-VAN-ə) is the oldest city in the U.S. state of Georgia and is the county seat of Chatham County. Established in 1733 on the Savannah River, the city of Savannah became the British colonial capital of the Province of Georgia and later the first state capital of Georgia. A strategic port city in the American Revolution and during the American Civil War, Savannah is today an industrial center and an important Atlantic seaport. It is Georgia's fifth-largest city, with a 2020 U.S. Census population of 147,780. The Savannah metropolitan area, Georgia's third-largest, had a 2020 population of 404,798.

Each year, Savannah attracts millions of visitors to its cobblestone streets, parks, and notable historic buildings. These buildings include the birthplace of Juliette Gordon Low (founder of the Girl Scouts of the USA), the Georgia Historical Society (the oldest continually operating historical society in the South), the Telfair Academy of Arts and Sciences (one of the South's first public museums), the First African Baptist Church (one of the oldest African-American Baptist congregations in the United States), Temple Mickve Israel (the third-oldest synagogue in the U.S.), and the Central of Georgia Railway roundhouse complex (the oldest standing antebellum rail facility in the U.S.).

Savannah's downtown area, which includes the Savannah Historic District, its 22 parklike squares, and the Savannah Victorian Historic District, is one of the largest National Historic Landmark Districts in the United States (designated by the U.S. government in 1966). Downtown Savannah largely retains the original town plan prescribed by founder James Oglethorpe (a design now known as the Oglethorpe Plan). During the 1996 Summer Olympics hosted by Atlanta, Savannah held sailing competitions in the nearby Wassaw Sound." - info from Wikipedia.

The fall of 2022 I did my 3rd major cycling tour. I began my adventure in Montreal, Canada and finished in Savannah, GA. This tour took me through the oldest parts of Quebec and the 13 original US states. During this adventure I cycled 7,126 km over the course of 2.5 months and took more than 68,000 photos. As with my previous tours, a major focus was to photograph historic architecture.

I made three button pouches.

I like buttons. I even have a button press so that whenever I want a certain kind of button all I have to do is draw or print a design and *presto* button time!

Cal is well known for advocating the PragProgrammer's one button deploy pattern. Now that we're exposing our deploys on code.flickr.com (look at the footer), I thought people might want some clarification on how it works.

When we say "one button", we actually mean a button. And this is that button.

These tealight holders are a combination of white and silver vintage buttons.

I've been working on a batch of scallop edged button flower cowls, for the fall.. These cowls can be worn with or without the flower embellishment. They will be up on my updated site this fall.

Using a single button's timing for four functions, shown on four LEDs:

Pretty much all computer mice use the same style of mouse button. If you have a expensive mouse and the mouse button ever wears out, instead of replacing the mouse, why not just get a replacement mouse button instead.

All you need is a soldering iron, de-solder the old mouse button, then remove it, then slide in the new mouse button and re solder it in place, the total job may take about 5 minutes.

the best way to get mouse buttons is to either find old or broken mice that you no longer use, or buy a extremely cheap mouse from a flea market or ebay then use it for spare parts.

PS while it is easy to take the mouse button apart, theres nothing to fix on the inside, the actual metal parts get worn down (which is why before the button is completely dead, you generally have to press the mouse button harder than you normally would for it to respond).

While walking along the Locust Fork riverbed in Alabama and taking pictures with flickerite friend Joe Miller (outsideshot) I noticed this unusual plant. If anyone can identify it for me.....please do. I have done some research online, but to no avail.
