semi-improv skirt made for my niece's 7th birthday. i slightly altered a pattern from Made blog. the floral fabric was found at a scrap swap!
Remember when women would dress SO properly and professionally in skirt suits, starched, pressed, buttoned-up blouses, and fuller, poofier bow ties?
G-CFZM has now had some preservation work done on her, including masking over the windows, presumably meaning she's here for long term storage.

So, this is the piece that ended up becoming wall art in a 3D frame. The N is for Noah and we did one for our daughter too, but that didn't make the assignment cut ;)
WIT: A lot of hot glue and some burnt fingertips. For the photo I laid the fabric down in the backyard and shot in the shade.
I started by square cropping in Lightroom 2 then in CS4 I ran a free coffee shop (if you haven't checked that blog out you definitely should if you're in lightroom or photoshop at all!) action called "simply vintage" then did a bunch of other adjustments involving a vignette, and some blurring.
