Frank made me smile - while eating his rawhide treat he had his back legs in a "frog butt" position with his tail tucked under. Link was trying to see if Frank would share his treat.

I went via Westminster Road, Regent Street, Queen's Road, towards Butts Road.

Probably dropping off people at the nearby Ramada Hotel & Suites by Wyndham Coventry.

Buttes-Chaumont is a large parc in the 19th arrondissement, built on the site of an old quarry.

10lb. Boston Butt AKA Pork Shoulder. I hit with some Rec Tec rub (Rob’s Screamin’ Pig Rub) before putting it on my Rec Tec Stampede smoker @ 6 PM Friday April 3rd

 

It’s now 5AM Saturday April 4th and I just measured interior temp with my ThermaPen & saw 185 degrees

 

The plan is to pull it when it hits 195, wrap in aluminum foil then wrap in lbath towels and place in my picnic cooler, let it rest at least an hour then start pulling it apart, mix a dash of Ron’s Screamin Pig Rub, call it done, make some samitches=:-)

To visit the Coyote Buttes South is to step into an otherworldly landscape of textures, shapes colours. A visual assault.

 

Only 20 people per day are issued permits for this location on the Paria Plateau in the Vemillion Cliffs National Monument.

 

We had some snow, some rain and a little bit of sun and blue sky. Sorry - not enough superalatives to describe what millions of geology have done.

 

We toured the area with our guide, Dallas, from Paria Outfitters - superb, attentive and seemed to be having as much fun as us!

I have always considered the buttes to be the dividing line between the northern part of California's Big Valley, and the central portion that encompasses Sacramento, Modesto and the Delta. We had a nice view from the freeway near Maxwell.
