At a museum in Berlin (Neues Museum) there is this one room, with old egypt busts. During Corona times I had the fortune to find it without any other visitors.

Vice-président aux Expositions de Louvain, Liège et Bruxelles, il reçoit le grand prix à l'Exposition universelle de Paris de 1889 et est hors concours en 1900

La pièce de théâtre "Cyrano de Bergerac", créée en 1897 a rendu célèbre Edmond Rostand… Le vrai Cyrano qui a inspiré l'écrivain n'était pas gascon ? En effet, Savinien de Cyrano de Bergerac est né à Paris et a terminé sa vie à… Sannois !

Portrait found in Rome, in the Licinian tomb, dated to around 30-50 A.D. It is not known precisely who she is, but it might be a portrait of Antonia, daughter of emperor Claudius.
Now on display at Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek, Copenhagen.

Adele Julien was a Roman noble woman who lived 1820-1860. This memorial, dating to the time of her death, is thought to have been made by Pietro Tenerani, famous for his Neo-Classical style. I had to brighten this shot quite a lot in the post-processing, because the church is rather dark. Many of the chapels can be lighted with a button press, but pieces such as this one, located by a pillar between two chapels, remain in the darkness. Very atmospheric, but not easy to capture.
In Santa Maria del Popolo, which was built in 1472-1477, replacing a medieval church (said to have been built on the spot where the wicked emperor Nero had been buried - though this is now very much doubted and that founding history is more to be viewed as a myth). It was originally a pure Renaissance church, but got some remodelling done in the 17th century which gives the church a touch of Baroque too. The biggest claim to fame for the church is, probably, the two paintings by Caravaggio in a chapel to the left of the high altar.
