Absent des représentations du moyen-âge, Pulcinella fut tiré de l'oubli au XVIème siècle par un comédien du nom de Silvio Fiorello qui l'introduisit dans les parades napolitaines.
Son buste est une œuvre en bronze créée par le sculpteur Lello Esposito en 2012.
Installé au début du vico Fico al Purgatorio et est devenu une attraction touristique . Se faire photographier en lui touchant le nez porterait bonheur.
