Flickr hasn't been working off my phone lately for some reason :( hense the lack of updates.
Have been very busy with studies. Daley is doing well. Staples are out of his leg. Still being crated. X-rays are in 4 weeks time. He has two lumps on his muzzle above his nose that I've just noticed. I know this breed is prone to lumps and bumps but he's so young, now i'm worried about that :|
Well cared for blue male American Pit Bull Terrier with natural rose type ears and white blaze markings. He has 3 days to be reclaimed by his owner or he will be euthanized due to the facility's policy of not adopting out APBTs. Even blue bully type pit bulls are killed in shelters across the country, as looks and pedigree mean nothing here. Stop the pit bull overpopulation!
The American Pit Bull Terrier (APBT) is a medium-sized, solidly built, shorthaired dog whose early ancestors came from England and Ireland. It is a member of the molosser breed group. The American Staffordshire Terrier and The American Pit Bull Terrier (APBT) by breed are from the same lineage; Staffordshires was the name given by AKC, and American Pit Bull Terriers by UKC. The real difference between the two breeds is 6 - 8" in height and 25 - 35 lb in weight; the American Staffordshire being the larger of the two.
The dog was bred first to bait bulls and bears. When bear-baiting and bull-baiting were deemed inhumane, rat-baiting and dog fighting became more popular. The APBT Breed was used in both sports, and its prevalence in being put in pits with rats, or other dogs led to "pit" being added to its name.
The American Pit Bull is medium-sized, and has a short coat and smooth well-defined muscle structure. Its eyes are round to almond shaped, and its ears are small to medium in length and can be natural or cropped. The tail is slightly thick and tapers to a point. The coat is glossy, smooth, short, and stiff to the touch. The accepted coat color can vary widely, but, both the AKC and UKC do not recognize merle coloring.
Twelve countries in Europe, as well as Australia, Canada, Ecuador, Malaysia, New Zealand, Puerto Rico, Singapore, and Venezuela have enacted some form of breed-specific legislation on pit bull-type dogs, including American Pit Bull Terriers, ranging from outright bans to restrictions and conditions on ownership. The state of New South Wales in Australia places restrictions on the breed, including mandatory sterilization. A few counties, and cities in the United States as well as the Province of Ontario in Canada, have outright banned ownership of the American Pit Bull terrier, and the breed is banned in the UK. ~ Wikipedia®

This photo isn't from today, the dogs felt they would rather wrestle than let me take photos of them today. Probably because I had just given them baths... They stayed clean for about a minute! Dogs will be dogs! *sigh*

So now one of ed's ears is all red, it seems to just be the ear flap though I can't be sure. I've been putting illium neocort cream on it and it seems to be helping. I keep catching Daley licking it! arhhhh! They're like cats, always cleaning each other lol.
LOOK at him ... he is actually POUTING!! rofl! Never saw a dog pout before, but he is ... the kids at work were popping in and walking by but not paying him any attention, so he was fully sulking! LOL.
Look at him GO! He goes ALL OUT for his flirtpole til he can't "go no more".
Even though this isn't in focus, I love the way the shadows show off his muscles, lol.

This pit bull terrier mix is lucky to be labeled as a "lab mix", which will buy him a chance at being adopted. Otherwise,he has three days to be claimed by his owner or a valid 501c3 rescue group or he will be euthanized due to breed, as this city shelter doesn't adopt pit bulls/mixes to the public.
Wally was a sweet, young, and very playful pitbull who was put down because of bias against the pitbull breed. I wish people understood that fear and misconceptions kill these wonderful dogs. Especially with the pet overpopulation problem we have. So please spay and neuter your pets. Don't breed your dog for fun or educational purposes. And try to believe me when I say that pit bulls can be some of the best dogs ever! Try to overcome your fears -if you see see somebody walking one, ask about them!
