I'm not sure how those wings manage the lift, but sometimes the camera can lie just a little bit :)
Quite a small subject in my viewfinder, so the crop may reveal a few shortcomings.
I bought a second Lloyd's bulk-loader; I like their simplicity, so one had HP5 and the other has Kodak 5207.

I think his size speaks for itself. This is not the largest alligator in this area and Big Boy is just a bit more massive than the behemoth. You can get some idea as to the sheer size of him in this scene. Let’s just say that this one is 12 foot plus and leave it at that. He was extracting himself from the bayou to do a bit of sunning on this day. No one questioned his actions. Photo taken on Horsepen Bayou. Hope everyone is not tired of lumpy lizard photos.

Some 50 years ago I was born in Kiel and still have a great affinity to my home. In my younger years I was quite active in sailing, spent a lot of time on the water and remember most spots along the Kiel Fjord and Bay of Kiel only from the water side. Today I decided to head direction Kiel for some shopping and passed Strande / Bülk, where I stopped for a lunch break and to take some long exposures around the Bülk Lighthouse. Thanks to Andy Müller for pointing out that spot, which I totally forgot over the years.
Bülk is at the extreme western headland of the Kiel Fjord. Everything to the right of the jetty is the Kiel Fjord and just around the corner to the left the Eckernförder Bucht / Egernførde Fjord begins. On the other shore you can see Marina Wendtorf, the extreme eastern headland of the Kiel Fjord.
Today I tried something totally different. I mixed a Heliopan ND1.2 (4 stops screw in) together with the Lee Big Stopper (10 stops square filter) and a Hitech ND grad soft 1.2 (4 stops rectangular filter), which gave me a total of 450 seconds (7.5 minutes) daytime exposure, while the sky was completely overcast.
An interesting fact of this configuration: it seems like the different colour cast of the Heliopan and LEE cancels the cast of each other out, so that the final RAW turns out pretty neutral, no whitebalance correction needed, even after such a long exposure.
Well, sure not one of my best images, pretty much ordinary, but it was fun visiting a place I have missed for so long.

Some fun processing. Sorry for reposting, I have straightened the tower a bit and removed that slight black cloud around the tower.

We can be seen here waiting to unload sugar beet pulp nuts into a temporary store in Thetford.
Notice both wagons are on 4 axles at 32 tons so this was pre 1983 when the gross weight went up to 38 tonnes.
The store was a dismantled and stripped out former chipboard factory.
The facility wasn’t ideal for storing bulk products but, storage building was at a premium at the time.
This was caused by the massive grain storage programme at the time.
You may remember at the time the EU were operating an ‘intervention’ food over production programme resulting in grain, beef, butter etc.‘mountains’.
All available grain stores were full to the rafters for a year or more until the programme fizzled out.
British Sugar makes far more pulp nuts animal feed than can be consumed in the short production season so excess pulp nuts have to be transported away from the factory into normally unused grain stores.
So, this is why we are unloading here amongst all the old factory rubbish.
