These suspended letters were being drowned by the rising tide, and we never did work out what they said. Our guess "The tide reaches up to here".
In the olden days, when we were still living in Amsterdam, we had a little 'home away from home' smack in the middle of the bulbfields by the dunes in Egmond. This field started 5 feet from my window. Spectacular views for a couple of weeks a year!
Of course we weren't supposed to walk in those fields...
The tulips are finally coming, albeit a month late. We were unhappy to learn that our friends in Edmonton had tulips in bloom before us here in the Netherlands.

Sunday 15th of April we had the warmest day in April ever.
And I have never seen the bulbfields so beautiful!
more tulips blooming in the bulbfields - didn't quite get the depth of field I was hoping for, but the colour was beautiful
