Renowned principally because of its interior decoration, confided in its entirety to outstanding Montreal artist Guido Nincheri, who's been called ''Canada's Michelangelo''.
His notable contributions to the decoration of scores of other churches around Quebec, the Maritimes, New England and even in Vancouver, had given him a prominence that culminated in his commission to overhaul St. Leon from top to bottom starting in 1928. Over the following fifteen years, frescoes, stained glass windows, sculptures, pews, balustrades etc. were all done by him or under his supervision.
It is now considered his masterpiece, In 1997 the church was designated a National Historic Site, and in 2007 Nincheri was designated a Person of National Historic Significance.

The St. Marks Light is the second-oldest light station in Florida. It is located on the east side of the mouth of the St. Marks River, on Apalachee Bay.
In the 1820s, the town of St. Marks, Florida was considered an important port of entry. The town served as a port for the prosperous planting region of Middle Florida and some counties of South Georgia. Growers hauled their agricultural products down to the port town in wagons by way of an early road which connected the then territorial capital of Tallahassee to the town of St. Marks. Later, this road would be widened and improved upon by the Tallahassee Railroad Company and would become the state's first railroad.
Once the agricultural products reached the new port town, they were loaded aboard boats for shipment to New Orleans and/or St. Augustine. There were, however, problems in navigating both the Apalachee Bay and the St. Marks River. In many places both bay and river were shallow, and it was not too uncommon for boats to run aground and/or get mired in the muddy shallows
After a survey was completed of the St. Marks area by Robert Mitchell, the Collector of Customs at Pensacola, and a site chosen for the lighthouse, it was discovered that the initial construction sum of $6,000 would be insufficient. The appropriation was increased to $14,000, and by mid-1829 a contract was signed with Winslow Lewis of Boston for the construction of a tower in the St. Marks area for $11,765. The finished product was not accepted by the Collector of Customs for St. Marks, Mr. Jesse H. Williams, because it had been constructed with hollow walls. Williams felt that the tower should be constructed with solid walls and, therefore, refused to accept the work.
Calvin Knowlton was brought in to rebuild the tower. He oversaw its completion, and in 1831, Williams, satisfied that the light was built according to the contract, accepted the work. That same year saw the tower's whale-oil lamps lit for the first time by Samuel Crosby, who had been appointed the first Keeper of the St. Marks Lighthouse the previous year.
The lighthouse was automated by the United States Coast Guard in 1960, and in 2000 the Coast Guard spent $150,000 in 2000 to stabilize the lighthouse. In 2000 or 2001 the lighthouse's fourth-order Fresnel lens was deactivated and a modern solar-powered beacon was placed outside the lantern room. The historic Fresnel lens remained in place in the tower for over a decade. In July 2005, Hurricane Dennis broke a window of the lantern, flooding the inside of the tower.
In October 2013 the Coast Guard deactivated transferred ownership of the lighthouse to the United States Fish and Wildlife Service, which operates the St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge. The lighthouse was deactivated in 2016 and the Coast Guard's solar beacon was removed. Financial grants from the Florida Department of State and Duke Energy in 2016, plus crowdfunded donations, were put towards repairs and restoration. On October 31, 2019, a replica of the original fourth-order Fresnel lens was lit in the tower. The light is now maintained as a private aid to navigation and is lit seasonally.

Originally opened in 1921, the 500-seat Seminole three-story building on Krome Avenue was built for Henry Booker, Sr. and James Washington English for movies and live entertainment. The theater was heavily damaged in a 1940 fire, leaving little more than a blackened shell.
Prolific theater architect Roy A. Benjamin was hired to rebuild the Seminole, which he designed in Streamline Moderne style. The cost of the movie theater's reconstruction was around $50,000. It reopened in the fall of 1940. In addition to movies, the Seminole continued to host live entertainment, as well as beauty contests and cooking demonstrations. In the early 1970s, the Seminole has renamed the Premier Theatre and began to show Spanish-language movies. It closed in 1979 due to declining attendance.
For years, the theater sat vacantly and fell into disrepair. In 1992, when Hurricane Andrew hit the Homestead area, the Seminole was not spared, and though its walls stood, the roof was torn off and the theater's interior suffered serious damage. In 1993, the Seminole Theater's owners donated the battered theater to the city, which designed it a local historic site two years later. The building is one of the few remaining examples of Art Moderne/Art Deco style theatres in all of Miami-Dade County.
The Seminole Theater Group was organized in 1997 with the intention of restoring the theater as a performing arts venue serving the Homestead and Dade County region. It is expected to cost about $4.2 million to bring the old Seminole back to life. The Seminole Theatre was reopened on October 28, 2015.
William B Medellin Architect P.A. as the historic preservation consultant for the project was responsible for the restoration of the historic facades, including the re-painting of the exterior walls to match the original historic colors; re-installation of missing historic elements such as the historic “Starburst” fretwork over the transom entrance doors and the historic travertine wainscot using historic salvaged travertine found at the Theater’s storage room. The interior lobby stairs and railings were the only original historic interior elements remaining in the building.

Although the 1965 Ford F-series trucks looked more or less the same as their 1964 counterparts, a key change that you couldn't see heralded the future.
Like the full-size Ford cars of that year, the F-series was treated to a brand new frame - a frame which would serve the F-series until 1979. Due to this major design change, many items from later trucks can be added to the 1965/66 trucks, which were the last fourth-generation F-series models.
In 1967, the F-series' exterior was updated, with styling that would last through the fifth and sixth generations (1967 to 1979) and heavily influence the look of the F-series until the 1996 redesign.
In 2015 there's a huge range of engines and configurations for the F-series, but in 1965 the choices were more limited - just three engine options, two big straight sixes and a 352 V8, and not that many different models. The F-100 was the bottom rung (the F-150 didn't arrive until the late 1970s), with the F-250 (3/4 ton) being the next rung up.
Like all F-series trucks, they were simple and durable machines - and built in huge numbers. Even examples this old are still a common sight.

The Thomas County Historic Courthouse is a government building built in 1858 and located on North Broad Street in Thomasville, Georgia, the seat of Thomas County. It was designed by architect John Wind.
It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on June 22, 1970.
It is also a contributing building in the NRHP-listed Thomasville Commercial Historic District.
Thomas County was created in 1825 from portions of Decatur and Irwin counties. Georgia's 63rd county, and its county seat, Thomasville, were named for a hero of the War of 1812, General Jett Thomas. In addition to his military career, General Thomas built the first university building in Athens.
The county has seven municipalities, the largest is Thomasville. Others include Barwick, Boston, Coolidge, Meigs, Ochlocknee, and Pavo. Ochlocknee is named for the river flowing through Thomas County. Meigs was named for several Meigs families who came from Marlboro County, South Carolina. Pavo is Latin for Peacock, which was the name of the first postmaster in the area.
Thomasville was a popular, turn-of-the-century, winter resort for wealthy northern families. Non-residents still maintain many large estates and hunting preserves. Many of these estates are listed on the National Register of Historic Places including the Susina Plantation Inn and the Lapham-Patterson House. The latter is a large, Victorian house, that was built by a survivor of the great fire of Chicago. He designed the house with 45 doors, 26 of which were exterior. Every room had its own fire extinguisher.
Thomasville is known for its annual Rose Festival; for the "Big Oak," which has a limb spread of 175 feet; and for the McKinley Memorial Tree planted in 1896 as a salute to candidate William McKinley, who became the 25th President of the United States.
Bailey White, a National Public Radio essayist and author of Mama Makes Up Her Mind, is from Thomas County.

Boston entrepreneur Harry S. Kelsey founded Kelsey City in 1921. He envisioned his town as a resort mecca and winter retreat for wealthy northerners. The Town hall was designed by architect Bruce Kitchell in 1927 and was built by Arnold Construction Company. Constructed of stuccoed brick and clay tile, this Mediterranean Revival jewel has stylistic features reflective of the late Italian Renaissance, including a rusticated frontispiece, decorative window surrounds and a water table supported by brackets. The Town Hall originally housed the Police and Fire Departments, Town Administration, Library, and Municipal Courtroom. The land boom collapse in the mid 1920s and the hurricane of 1928, in which the Town Hall served as a shelter for residents, nearly devastated the city. Service organizations provided diversions for those who remained. The Fire Department sponsored dances here in the Mirror Ballroom on the second floor. The ballroom was used for many other social events, such as theatrical performances by the Palm Beach Junior College, which occupied the Town Hall in the 1950s. In 1939 the town changed its name to the Town of Lake Park

The Mole is over 525 ft high, and is a square base surmounted by a dome that in turn is surmounted by a colonnaded level or loggia - known as the "tempietto" (small temple) - and by its long, narrow spire that aims to scrape the sky. A panoramic elevator provides access to the tempietto, where visitors can admire the panoramic view of the city and surrounding areas.
Today the Mole houses the National Museum of Cinema.

Bethesda-by-the-Sea is an Episcopal Church by the Lake Worth Lagoon in Palm Beach, Florida. It is part of the Episcopal Diocese of Southeast Florida and the oldest existing congregation in Palm Beach. The church building is an example of the gothic revival style and surrounds a courtyard.
Initially the church began in the Little Red Schoolhouse in January 1889. The initial church was built of mostly wood from lumber from the beach with service beginning in April that year. There was little access to the church aside from by boat. A larger new lot was sought in the following years with a rectory being built in 1890 and a second church built in the spring of 1895. The second church held its last service on Easter Sunday April 12, 1925.
The architectural firm of Hiss and Weekes produced a straightforward plan for the building, focused around a central courtyard or cloister. They placed the sanctuary entrance and a truncated tower closest to the intersection. A second walkway led to the entrance of the cloister, which featured both an outdoor pulpit and a fountain dominated by a sculpture of an angel. In the original plans, the choir and guild rooms were located on the east side of the cloister and the living areas for the rector and his staff were on the north. Inside the church, the bare stone and plaster columns and walls of the nave and side aisles are lit by stained glass windows. The dark wood of the ceiling recedes into the background. There is an order and legibility of plan in this church that is more typically seen in hotels.
The current church held the first service at its current location on Christmas Day 1926.
Donald and Melania Trump were married in the church on January 22, 2005. Trump's youngest son, Barron, was christened at the church. They have attended Christmas Eve and Easter Celebrations here in 2016, 2017, and 2019 after Trump's election as President of the United States.
Michael Jordan and Yvette Prieto were married at the church on April 27, 2013.

701 Brickell Avenue, is an office skyscraper in the Brickell district of Miami, Florida, United States. It is located on Brickell Avenue in the northern Brickell Financial District, just three blocks from Biscayne Bay. The tower was built in 1986 and opened as the Lincoln Center, it held that title until 2004. It currently goes by its address, which is 701 Brickell, because there was already a building in Miami at the time that claimed the Bank of America litigation, and therefore it could not take that name. However, that specific building has since been renamed the Miami Tower. The building is currently owned by TIAA–CREF, which purchased it in November 2002.
The building is 450 ft (150 m) tall and contains 34 floors. When built, it was in the top ten tallest buildings in Miami. Now, however, it has been dwarfed by much taller surrounding buildings which have been built as part of the recent building boom in that city. The building contains 677,677 rentable square feet of Class A office space.

Built in 1909, this Beaux Arts-style building was constructed to house the Central Cafe, a large saloon, before becoming home to the Bellevue Bank after World War I and the passage of the 18th Amendment to the US Constitution, banning the sale and production of alcohol. The building features a brick exterior with wine red brick panels broken up by buff brick trim and accents, a red tile hipped roof with multiple gabled wall dormers with decorative brackets and arched windows, one-over-one double-hung windows on the second and third floors, a parapet with a decorative stone trim cap wrapping the base of the hipped roof, a cornice with brackets, a one-story 1970s side addition and rear drive through canopy, and a heavily modified first floor with cladding added in the 1970s when the building became home to a branch of Fifth Third Bank, which was removed in the summer of 2022. The building presently houses office space, and despite its modifications, maintains most of its original character-defining features on the second and third floors, with the first floor facade being surprisingly intact under the later modifications. The building is a contributing structure in the Fairfield Avenue Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.
Whitehall is a 75-room, 100,000 square foot Gilded Age mansion open to the public in Palm Beach, Florida in the United States. Completed in 1902, it is a major example of neoclassical Beaux Arts architecture designed by Carrère and Hastings for Henry Flagler, a leading captain of industry in the late 19th century, and a leading developer of Florida as a tourist destination. The building is listed as a National Historic Landmark. It now houses the Henry Morrison Flagler Museum, named after its builder.
The site of the home was purchased for $50,000 in 1893 (as of 2010 that would be $1,197,562.39) by Flagler. The site was later surveyed for construction in July 1900 and the home was completed in time for Flagler and his wife to move in on February 6, 1902. The architects were John Carrère and Thomas Hastings, who had earlier designed the Ponce de Leon Hotel and several other buildings in St. Augustine for Flagler. Whitehall was to be a winter residence, and Henry gave it to Mary Lily as a wedding present. They would travel to Palm Beach each year in one of their own private railcars, one of which was No. 91.
In 1959, the site was saved from demolition by one of Henry Flagler's granddaughters Jean Flagler Matthews. She established the Henry Morrison Flagler Museum non-profit corporation, which purchased the building in 1959, opening it as a museum in 1960. The upper ten stories of the hotel addition were demolished in 1963 in preparing the museum for the public.
Today, Whitehall is a National Historic Landmark and is open to the public as the Henry Morrison Flagler Museum, featuring guided tours, exhibits, and special programs. The museum offers several programs, many of which are seasonal, lasting only from October to January. In addition to an annual chamber music series, the Flagler hosts the Whitehall lecture series, which brings “experts and best-selling authors to discuss Gilded Age topics, events, and local history.” Past lecture series include historical talks about the dawn of the Progressive Era, World War I, Gilded Age presidents, engineering feats, and Metaphysical America: Spirituality and Health Movements During the Gilded Age. The Flagler also holds a special exhibition each year, often showcasing Gilded Age paintings, sculptures, glamour photography, or material culture, such as board games, jewelry, cartoons, Tiffany & Co. silver pieces (including ones displayed at the 1893 Chicago World's Columbian Exposition), and women's fashion. It also hosts a variety of local galas and balls throughout the year. The Museum is located at Cocoanut Row and Whitehall Way in Palm Beach.
Flagler died of injuries sustained in falling down a flight of marble stairs at Whitehall in 1913, at the age of 83. Mary Lily died four years later, and the home was devised to her niece Louise Clisby Wise Lewis, who sold the property to investors. They constructed a 300-room, ten-story addition to the west side of the building, obliterating Mr. Flagler's offices and the housekeeper's apartment, and altering the original kitchen and pantry area. Carrere and Hastings were the architects of the 1925 reconstruction. In 1939 it was described as a $4,000,000 building and Palm Beach's second-largest hotel.
When it was completed in 1902, Whitehall was hailed by the New York Herald as "more wonderful than any palace in Europe, grander and more magnificent than any other private dwelling in the world." It was designed in the Beaux Arts style, meant to rival the extravagant mansions in Newport, Rhode Island.
Distinct from these northern homes, Whitehall had no outbuildings or subsidiary structures. Nor had it elaborately planned or cultivated gardens. Plants, flowers, trees and shrubs were allowed to grow unaided.
The mansion is built around a large open-air central courtyard and is modeled after palaces in Spain and Italy. Three stories tall with several wings, the mansion has fifty-five fully restored rooms furnished with period pieces. These rooms are large with marble floors, walls and columns, murals on the ceilings, and heavy gilding.
Officially opened February 4, 2005, the $4.5-million Flagler Kenan Pavilion is the first addition to the property since 1925. The 8,100-square-foot (750 m2) pavilion is named after the mogul and William R. Kenan Jr., Flagler's engineer, friend and brother-in-law. It was designed in the Beaux-Arts manner by Jeffery W. Smith of Palm Beach-based Smith Architectural Group, Inc. and took almost four years to build. The featured display in this pavilion is Railcar No. 91, Flagler's private railcar built in Delaware in 1886. According to the museum, the car was restored using “documentation from the National Museum of American History, the Smithsonian, the Delaware State Archives, and the Hagley Museum and Library in Delaware.” It also houses the seasonal Pavilion Café and tea service.

The score reflects how prepared a community and area is for fires. Due to its completion, Naples Fire-Rescue recently achieved the ISO rating of Class 1. This improvement provides assurances to the Naples residents and businesses that the Fire-Rescue Department meets the highest national benchmarks and can even potentially reduce hazard insurance for buildings located in Naples, Florida.
The building is organized with the community in mind, first and foremost. Even though the majority of the building is built six feet above the street level for flooding protection purposes, the public lobby is designed and engineered at ground level in order to provide ease of access, as well as promote a sense of trust and transparency to the public.
The building utilizes a community space adjacent to the main lobby enabling Naples Fire Rescue Community Outreach department to offer programs such as: free CPR and AED training, home safety inspection program, smoke detector program, child safety, and Youth Academy. Unlike most fire station apparatus bays, the Naples Fire Station 1 is able to serve as an educational space and an additional venue for community events. It was designed to directly capture exhaust fumes from fire apparatus vehicles and utilizes sensors for CO2 & NO2 gasses to exhaust air as required. With the garage doors open and the oversized high volume low sped fans on, the apparatus bay was able to be utilized as a vaccination site during the Covid-19 pandemic when vaccines first became available, and people were lining up in the hot Florida sun at other facilities."
