Built in 2005. In special colours celebrating the 60th anniversary of the first flight of the Mi-8 and the 55th anniversary of the introduction of the type into the Czechoslovak Air Force. Assigned to the 222nd Helicopter Squadron (222. vrtulníková letka) stationed at the 22nd Helicopter Air Base "Biskajská", Náměšť nad Oslavou.
Built by White Motor Co.as a school bus, it was converted by Illinois Terminal for use as a railbus. Special type of rear axle, flanged wheels and a 4-wheel front bogie truck. Nicknamed "The Dinky." Used to transport passengers between Grafton, IL and Alton, IL. Engine, line 2; gas straight 6 cyl, 6 volt.

The R93 first appeared in the Star Wars Outlaws DLC "A pirates fortune". I really liked the change of perspective in game and to fly with the Refractor. The different flight modes give it some appealing silhouette and function.

This album celebrates the achievements of the Hawthorn Leslie locomotive works at Forth Banks, Newcastle upon Tyne. The works were established by Robert Hawthorn in January 1817 and in 1820 his brother, William Hawthorn joined him as a partner. The firm initially manufactured stationary engines but within a few years diversified into marine engineering and in 1831 produced its first locomotive engine for the Stockton and Darlington Railway.
In 1870 the firm established a separate marine engine works on the River Tyne at St. Peter’s and from 1882 the Forth Banks Works became devoted entirely to the manufacture of locomotives. In 1885 the firm amalgamated with the shipyard of Andrew Leslie at Hebburn, creating the world-famous shipbuilding and engineering company R and W. Hawthorn, Leslie & Co. Ltd.
The Forth Banks Works of Hawthorn Leslie produced engines of all types and sizes for railways around the world. The output of the Forth Banks Works included a large number of tank engines for industrial works and collieries and the firm established a speciality in the construction of crane locomotives.
The images in this set date from the early twentieth century and are a reminder of Newcastle upon Tyne’s proud industrial heritage. They are taken from a series of photograph albums produced by Hawthorn Leslie. The albums were kindly donated to Tyne & Wear Archives by Alan C. Baker and T.D. Allen Civil.

Built in the early 17th century, the present castle lies on the earthworks and ruins of a 12th-century medieval castle; the earliest structure of the present castle, known as the Little Castle, was built between 1612 and 1617 by Sir Charles Cavendish. Working with the famous builder and designer Robert Smythson, Cavendish's castle was designed for elegant living rather than defence, and was unfinished at the time of the two men's deaths, in 1614 and 1617 respectively.
The vast and stately Terrace Range on the west side of the site was the result of at least three building campaigns, the first of which was contemporary with the building of the Little Castle or immediately post-dates it. The architect was probably John Smythson with additions by Huntingdon Smithson for Sir William Cavendish. The range, overlooking the Vale of Scarsdale, is now a dramatic roofless shell.
Built by Baldwin in 1883, D&RGW 4-6-0 169 has been on display in Alamosa, Colorado, since 1941. It's currently undergoing a slow restoration by Friends of the 169.

One of these locomotives was built in 1998, the other was built in 1917. One of these locos was built to be upgraded to 6000 horsepower, the other was not. One of them had computer screens, onboard diagonstics and all the technology that money could buy, the other did not. One of them is still in service--working the same short stretch of track in Mason City, IA since 1961--the other is out of service. Iowa Traction #60 is the winner in this battle of locomotives. UP 8228 led a northbound freight over the IATR diamonds at Clear Lake Junction on August 2, 2004 as the elderly boxcab awaits its return to work the next morning.
The Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception (French: Cathédrale de l'Immaculée-Conception de Mobile) is a cathedral serving Roman Catholics in the U.S. city of Mobile, Alabama. It is the seat of the Archbishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Mobile. The cathedral is named for Mary, mother of Jesus, under her title, Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as a contributing property to the Church Street East Historic District and Lower Dauphin Street Historic District and is listed on the Historic Roman Catholic Properties in Mobile Multiple Property Submission.
Mobile’s Cathedral Parish was established on July 20, 1703, by Jean-Baptiste de la Croix de Chevrières de Saint-Vallier, Bishop of Quebec. Bishop de Saint-Vallier named Father Roulleaux de La Vente, first pastor of the parish church, which was located at the French settlement of Mobile at the citadel of Fort Louis de la Louisiane. The parish is the first established on the Gulf Coast.
When the Mobile settlement was relocated to its present site in 1711, a new parish church was built and was known as Notre Dame de la Mobile (Our Lady of Mobile). In 1781, during the Spanish occupation of Mobile, the parish took its current name, Immaculate Conception.
Mobile was elevated to a diocese in 1829, and Frenchman, Michael Portier, was named its first bishop. Bishop Portier’s first “cathedral” was a small wooden structure located in the Old Spanish Burying Ground, site of the present cathedral. Portier soon set out to construct a "real" cathedral.
The cathedral, designed in 1833, by Claude Beroujon, a former seminarian turned architect, is laid out in a Roman basilica design. Construction began in 1835, but the Panic of 1837, caused a shortage of funds and delayed progress. The cathedral was consecrated for public worship in 1850, by Bishop Portier, though Beroujon’s design was not yet fully realized. The portico and towers were to come later.
The classical portico, with eight massive columns of the Roman Doric order, was added in the 1870s, under the direction of Bishop John Quinlan. The two towers were completed in 1884, during the watch of Bishop Jeremiah O'Sullivan.
Located on South Claiborne Street in downtown, it is bounded by Dauphin Street on the north, Franklin Street on the west, and Conti Street on the south. The front of the church faces east, toward the Mobile River, and overlooks Cathedral Square.
The building, laid out in an east-west axis, is 164 ft (50 m) long and 90 ft (27 m) wide. The ceiling is 60 ft (18 m) at its highest point, and its twin towers rise to 103 ft (31 m).
One of the cathedral’s finest attributes is its stained glass windows. The windows were made in Munich, Germany by Franz Mayer & Co., and installed beginning in 1890. The last window was installed in 1910, during the time of Bishop Edward Patrick Allen.
The twelve main windows, six on the south wall and six on the north wall, are approximately 8 feet (2.4 m) wide and 23 feet (7.0 m) tall. Each window depicts an event involving Mary in the life of her son, Jesus. The subjects of the south wall windows are Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, the Presentation of Mary at the Temple, the Annunciation, the Visitation, the Nativity of Jesus, and the Holy Family. The themes of the north wall are the Finding of the Child Jesus at the Temple, the Marriage Feast of Cana, the Crucifixion of Jesus, Pentecost, the Assumption of Mary into Heaven, and the Coronation of Mary, Queen of Heaven.
Two large windows flank the portico, one under each of the two towers. The Baptism of Jesus in the River Jordan, by John the Baptist is the subject of the window in the Reconciliation Room, under the north tower. The window under the south tower, in the stairway to the choir loft, appropriately depicts St. Cecilia, patron saint of musicians.
Smaller windows are found in each of the eight doors in the foyer, behind the cathedral’s main doors, at the church’s front entrance. These depict, from left to right, St. Augustine of Hippo, Our Lady of Mount Carmel, the Presentation of Mary at the Temple, St. Louis IX, King of France, St. Patrick, Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, St. Agnes of Rome, Virgin & Martyr , and the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. Above the four middle doors is the Holy Spirit window.

The Cincinnati Museum Center at Union Terminal, originally Cincinnati Union Terminal, is a mixed-use complex in the Queensgate neighborhood of Cincinnati, Ohio, United States. Once a major passenger train station, it went into sharp decline during the postwar decline of railroad travel. Most of the building was converted to other uses, and now houses museums, theaters, and a library, as well as special travelling exhibitions. Since 1991, it has been used as a train station once again.
Built in 1933, it is a monumental example of Art Deco architecture, for which it was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1977.
Cincinnati was a major center of railroad traffic in the late 19th and early 20th century, especially as an interchange point between railroads serving the Northeastern and Midwestern states with railroads serving the South. However, intercity passenger traffic was split among no fewer than five stations in Downtown Cincinnati, requiring the many travelers who changed between railroads to navigate local transit themselves. The Louisville and Nashville Railroad, which operated through sleepers with other railroads, was forced to split its operations between two stations. Proposals to construct a union station began as early as the 1890s, and a committee of railroad executives formed in 1912 to begin formal studies on the subject, but a final agreement between all seven railroads that served Cincinnati and the city itself would not come until 1928, after intense lobbying and negotiations, led by Philip Carey Company president George Crabbs. The seven railroads: the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad; the Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad; the Cleveland, Cincinnati, Chicago and St. Louis Railway; the Louisville and Nashville Railroad; the Norfolk and Western Railway; the Pennsylvania Railroad; and the Southern Railway selected a site for their new station in the West End, near the Mill Creek.
The principal architects of the massive building were Alfred T. Fellheimer and Steward Wagner, with architects Paul Philippe Cret and Roland Wank brought in as design consultants; Cret is often credited as the building's architect, as he was responsible for the building's signature Art Deco style. The Rotunda features the largest semi-dome in the western hemisphere, measuring 180 feet (55 m) wide and 106 feet (32 m) high.
The Union Terminal Company was created to build the terminal, railroad lines in and out, and other related transportation improvements. Construction in 1928 with the regrading of the east flood plain of the Mill Creek to a point nearly level with the surrounding city, a massive effort that required 5.5 million cubic yards of landfill. Other improvements included the construction of grade separated viaducts over the Mill Creek and the railroad approaches to Union Terminal. The new viaducts the Union Terminal Company created to cross the Mill Creek valley ranged from the well built, like the Western Hills Viaduct, to the more hastily constructed and shabby, like the Waldvogel Viaduct. Construction on the terminal building itself began in 1931, with Cincinnati mayor Russell Wilson laying the mortar for the cornerstone. Construction was finished ahead of schedule, although the terminal welcomed its first trains even earlier on March 19, 1933 when it was forced into emergency operation due to flooding of the Ohio River. The official opening of the station was on March 31, 1933. The total cost of the project was $41.5 million.
During its heyday as a passenger rail facility, Cincinnati Union Terminal had a capacity of 216 trains per day, 108 in and 108 out. Three concentric lanes of traffic were included in the design of the building, underneath the main rotunda of the building: one for taxis, one for buses, and one (although never used) for streetcars. However, the time period in which the terminal was built was one of decline for train travel. By 1939, local newspapers were already describing the station as a white elephant. While it had a brief revival in the 1940s, because of World War II, it declined in use through the 1950s into the 1960s.
After the creation of Amtrak in 1971, train service at Cincinnati Union Terminal was reduced to just two trains a day, the George Washington and the James Whitcomb Riley. Amtrak abandoned Cincinnati Union Terminal the next year, opening a smaller station elsewhere in the city on October 29, 1972.

Charminar built in 1591 AD, is a landmark monument located in Hyderabad, India. The two words Char Minar of Urdu language are combined to which it is known as Charminar (English: Four Towers). These are four ornate minarets attached and supported by four grand arches, it has become the global icon of Hyderabad and is listed among the most recognized structures of India. The Charminar is on the east bank of Musi river. To the northeast lies the Laad Bazaar and in the west end lies the granite-made richly ornamented Mecca Masjid.

Built during the mid–1100s by Norman lord William of Albini II, the church of Saint Lawrence in the village of Castle Rising is hailed in the UK as a grandiose gesture and a prowess of overflowing decorative Romanesque architecture. We connoisseurs of Continental Europe Romanesque will probably not be so enthused, as the decoration of this church is truly not extravagant by our own standards...
Nevertheless, looking at the western façade unmistakably makes me think about those churches in Saintonge, as there is an obvious likelihood, even though Saint Lawrence remains very restrained compared to those.
While the inside was almost entirely redone during Victorian times, and will therefore be much less interesting to us, the outside shows a very pleasant and harmonious church, distinctly English as it may be, and lacking, for example, in the quality of its apparel, even on that vaunted western façade.
In addition to the (rather unusual for a UK Romanesque church) western door, Saint Lawrence features this very nice little vestibule or narthex to its (more usual) southern entrance.
This church, built during XII-XV centuries, is considered one the finest examples of Romanesque art in the world, especially for its sculptures.

Custom Mid-scale Tumbler from the Dark Knight. Not a new build, but rather a re-uploaded model from three years ago. I originally uploaded this when I first joined but in much poorer quality. I don't custom build much, so this is a rarity for me XD
The church was built in 1654 in dedication to Saint Peter over a medieval citadel that was erected by Frederick I and restored by Louis IX of France at the beginning of the second half of the thirteenth century. However, in the late eighteenth century the church was twice destroyed and consequently twice rebuilt. The current structure was built between 1888 and 1894 and most recently renovated in 1903. The church was constructed on its present location because of the significance Jaffa has to Christianity. It was in Jaffa that Saint Peter raised Tabitha, one of Jesus' disciples, from the dead according to the Acts of the Apostles, Acts 9:36-43, Acts 10:1-4. The church is dedicated to him. Since the large church is located on a hill near the shore, the building has historically dominated the view of Jaffa from the sea, thus serving as a beacon to pilgrims, signaling that the Holy Land is near.
Built by Ludwig II of Bavaria in a style supposed to evoke the knightly culture of the Middle Ages. Ludwig was an admirer of the operas of Richard Wagner. From a slide.

Built in 1905 / 1907 by W. D. Flatt as a summer cottage in the Craftsman Style most favoured by him, the one-storey house has a high truncated hipped roof, with overhanging eaves displaying rafter tails (comparable to the eaves and rafter tails at the Burlington West train station, built in 1909). The central chimney is built of the same large brick as the fireplace. The front elevation, facing the lake, has a large offset projecting gable. The verandah thus created has a continuous band of eighteen-paned windows, some of which slide open on brass rollers. The corners of the verandah window frame are supported by very substantial arched brackets. The double entrance has been narrowed from its original width, which is indicated by the characteristic Craftsman Style entrance steps.
The unusually wide rough-sawn clapboard siding (8 inch exposure) is protected by a natural dark brown stain, and the trim is painted white. This is the earliest known example in Burlington of this treatment, which is also seen in the illustration of the house of Mr Charles Loosley, at Pine Cove, in Flatt's Lake Shore Surveys booklet in 1912; and in the cottages of the Cedar Springs Community, built by Flatt in the mid-1920s. The white paint enhances the effect of the strong triangle brackets supporting the overhanging eaves of the front gable, and emphasizes the well-proportioned trim of the windows. The double-hung windows have six over one panes in the usual Craftsman style. They are grouped in pairs on the west-side bedrooms and occur singly on the east and north elevations. All the original windows except for the verandah windows and the bathroom window have solid shutters with large metal hinge brackets and crescent moon cutouts.
The Craftsman Style interior is exceptionally well maintained and authentic. The double entrance doors open onto interior double doors leading from the verandah to the sitting room, where a massive brick fireplace with a bracketed wooden mantelpiece aligns with the doors. A bookcase with drawers beneath is built in alongside the fireplace. The dining room contains a built-in cabinet with leaded glass doors not dissimilar to the stained-glass work that was to be featured in Flatt's own house, Lakehurst Villa, built a few years later. A narrow staircase leads up from the dining room to what was originally an attic over the verandah. All of this interior woodwork, including the window trim and plate rails in the dining room and sitting room and the floors, is completely unspoiled and has its original dark walnut-stained finish. The plaster walls and coved ceilings are in excellent condition. The pantry contains original cupboards.
The house is secluded from the Lakeshore Road by its extensive garden, which contains many old trees, shrubs, and perennials. This seclusion from the road is a strong reminder of the earliest landscaping practices along this stretch of the Lakeshore. The vegetable and perennial beds are in the original locations, where they are placed for the best views from the windows of the house. Some roses remain from the garden of Mr Latham, who grew many prize-winning blooms. The rise of the lake level in recent years has caused the loss of the beach and the original dock.
This is an exceptional example of the Burlington summer house in the Edwardian period. Its first owner was a Mr White, of Hamilton. It was bought circa 1910 by Richard L. Latham, Chief Engineer for the T H & B Railway in Hamilton, and has remained in the family for some 80 years.
Built in 1927, it is now part of the Eastern Irrigation District Historical Park. One of eleven mineral brown colour Alberta Wheat Pool country elevators still standing.
The Thomas County Historic Courthouse is a government building built in 1858 and located on North Broad Street in Thomasville, Georgia, the seat of Thomas County. It was designed by architect John Wind.
It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on June 22, 1970.
It is also a contributing building in the NRHP-listed Thomasville Commercial Historic District.
Thomas County was created in 1825 from portions of Decatur and Irwin counties. Georgia's 63rd county, and its county seat, Thomasville, were named for a hero of the War of 1812, General Jett Thomas. In addition to his military career, General Thomas built the first university building in Athens.
The county has seven municipalities, the largest is Thomasville. Others include Barwick, Boston, Coolidge, Meigs, Ochlocknee, and Pavo. Ochlocknee is named for the river flowing through Thomas County. Meigs was named for several Meigs families who came from Marlboro County, South Carolina. Pavo is Latin for Peacock, which was the name of the first postmaster in the area.
Thomasville was a popular, turn-of-the-century, winter resort for wealthy northern families. Non-residents still maintain many large estates and hunting preserves. Many of these estates are listed on the National Register of Historic Places including the Susina Plantation Inn and the Lapham-Patterson House. The latter is a large, Victorian house, that was built by a survivor of the great fire of Chicago. He designed the house with 45 doors, 26 of which were exterior. One of the compartments built as first class for the first tranche of 4SUB units built in 1941. They were never used as such in service, and were declassified to second before entering service. Some were formed into other units - this is a 4EPB at Victoria. Note the gap between the seat edge and the door giving several inches extra leg-room when compared to a standard compartment.
Built around 1510 probably on the site of a pre-Christian well. Said to cure whooping cough. I have read it described as a baptistry and there is a pool inside - though, considering the state of the water, it would more likely kill rather than cure and certainly shorten the life of whoever is being baptised.
The Old U.S. Post Office and Courthouse is a historic courthouse in Miami, Florida. It is located at 100-118 Northeast 1st Avenue. Constructed over three years (1912–14), it was designed by Kiehnel and Elliott and Oscar Wenderoth. It was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places on January 4, 1989. The Miami-Dade County Tax Records say this building was built in 1917.
The three-story Neo-Classical Revival structure is a federally designated historic landmark that is currently being redeveloped.

In August 1914, the Miami Weather Bureau Office was relocated from the Bank of Bay Biscayne Building to the third floor of the old federal building. Weather instruments were installed on the roof of the building. Richard Gray (1874-1960) was the Official-in-Charge. It was from this location that the warnings from the Weather Bureau Central Office in Washington were disseminated for the Great Miami Hurricane of 1926 and the Okeechobee Hurricane of 1928. The Miami Weather Bureau Office remained on the third floor from 1914 to 1929, although the weather instruments were moved to the Seybold Building in 1927.
Dr. William Homer Walker created First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Miami in 1933, when he acquired the first federal savings and loan charter ever issued in the United States. The original name of the institution was the First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Miami. Because it had outgrown two former locations, Walker purchased the abandoned Miami Post Office and Federal Court Building in May 1937 to house his savings and loan. In 1973 the bank moved to the thirty-two story First Federal Building, later known as the AmeriFirst Building and now known as One Downtown, at One Southeast 3rd Avenue in downtown Miami.

The Roger Stevens Building is designated at Grade II* for the following principal reasons: * Designers: the architectural practice of Chamberlin, Powell and Bon is recognised as significant for their work at Golden Lane and the Barbican in London, and New Hall, Cambridge, and the Roger Stevens Building represents the high point of their Leeds University work * Architecture: the building is an outstanding and individual design with bold external shapes and carefully designed interiors * Planning: the internal spaces are the result of extensive research on the requirements of the university and introduce innovative and influential features such as individual doors into the lecture theatres, and external links intimately with other buildings on the campus by means of multi-level walkways * Intactness: despite the changing requirements of universities, the building has remained largely unchanged, proving the success of its design * Group Value: the building provides a fitting centrepiece to the group of university buildings on the South Campus at Leeds, also recommended for designation
Built a 120 roll film pinhole from 3 strips of walnut. First roll - vignetting. #2 - light leaks. This is roll 3 and no issues. Next roll will be for World Pinhole Day on 28th April.

Originally built for the Santa Fe, this trio of RSD15s hauled countless tonnage for their original owners, and eventually several regional railroads in the upper midwest - the Lake Superior & Ishpeming, Fox River Valley Railroad and the Green Bay & Western. These units were on property when Wisconsin Central acquired the GBW and a couple were relettered but few saw serious running time before being scrapped.
