Gare de Lyon Saint Exupéry / Gare de Saint-Exupéry TGV/ by Santiago Calatrava is a railway station near Lion, France. It was built in addition to Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport.

The impressive ruins of Moreton Corbet Castle (at night) are the product of over 500 years of building.

The earliest surviving remains are those of a stone castle begun in about 1200, including a fine gatehouse.

The Corbet family remodelled the castle in the 16th century, and the Elizabethan south wing is a rare survival from this period of a bold Italian-inspired design, which was devastated during the Civil War. Fine Corbet monuments fill the adjacent church.

Inside the redeveloped 'Atrium' joining Nottingham Trent University's Newton and Arkright buildings, on Goldsmith Street, Nottingham.

Between 2008-2011 the Grade II listed Newton and Arkwright buildings underwent a £90 million redevelopment, and now the complex represent a mixture of gothic, art-deco, brutalist and modern architecture.

"Fort Wawrzyszew" is a common name Fort II Fortress Warsaw built by tsarist conqueror in the nineteenth century. In antique building of the former barracks are today two car repair shops and a company, which, it seems, is engaged in installation of windows. A large part of the premises is closed. In the area there are also younger buildings, erected after World War II, used by the military unit LWP, which was stationed here to 90 years the twentieth century. From that time also comes unused today resort, it may be intended for the military and their families. Today there can only see traces of angling club, which occupies one of the cottages. Other buildings appear to be unused.

The small village Terstraten, near Nuth, Zuid-Limburg, The Netherlands.

Built as a residential dwelling in 1480, Tu Hwnt i’r Bont (Beyond the Bridge) is actually considerably older than the Inigo Jones bridge it stands beside. Some years later the building was used as the Courthouse for the surrounding area. From here the most serious offenders could have been taken to Tan y Craig in Llanrwst where they could be hanged outside the old gaol!

Over the centuries Tu Hwnt i’r Bont has fallen into disrepair several times and been rebuilt and restored through the generosity of the townsfolk. During the last century, Tu Hwnt i’r Bont was acquired by the National Trust who have since leased the building for over 50 years.

Rivière Madawaska

Edmundston, Nouveau-Brunswick

The land the cottage stands on was granted to Thomas Kenton by “The Grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland” in 1896 for Six Pounds. It is believed Thomas Kenton an Englishman was a brick layer and mine owner at Mt. Elliot. The cottage has seen life over three centuries as a family home, boarding house, Antique Shop and now a B&B.

Another view of the Bankside apartments next to the Tate Modern, London.

Yesterday after dinner we noticed nice red clouds high up in the sky. I grabbed my gear and raced to a nearby bridge in Cupertino. The red sky was gone by the time arrived at the bridge. It's worthwhile sticking around. I love the one-point perspective you get with this bridge. For yesterday's twilight post I used the A6000 crop sensor camera; for this night shot I used the full frame A7 II with the Canon 50mm f/0.95 "Dream Lens" at f/8.0.

I processed a balanced, a paintery, and a photographic HDR photo from two RAW exposures, blended them selectively, and carefully adjusted the color balance and curves. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.

Topaz Texture Effects with texture by Shadowhouse Creations

Opened on September 30th, 2010, the Father Bernatek Footbridge (Kladka Ojca Bernatka) straddles the Wisla River just south of the centre, linking the districts of Kazimierz and Podgórze between ul. Mostowa and ul. Nadwislanska where several road bridges had stood in its place before, the last being dismantled way back in 1925.

The leaf-shaped, 130m structure accommodates both pedestrians and cyclists with its twin walkway design by local architect Andrzej Getter.

Though a source of controversy during its development (largely due to coming in over budget at a sobering 38 million zloty), the Bernatek bridge is now a beloved part of the urban landscape, both for its convenience and aesthetic appeal.

The bridge has played a key role in the revitalisation of the two areas it connects between Plac Wolnica and Rynek Podgórski, which is now not only an ideal destination for an alternative pub crawl, but also a romantic stroll. It's here that Cracovian couples have adopted the increasingly popular (and unoriginal) tradition of attaching padlocks engraved with their names to the railings of the bridge, before throwing the keys into the Wisla (while the rest of us throw up in our mouths) as evidence of their unbreakable bond and commitment to each other.

The success and influence of the bridge will hopefully inspire the city to follow through on plans it has for a similar pedestrian river crossing close to Wawel Castle.

Since 2016, the bridge has been adorned with nine acrobatic, gravity-defying sculptures by Jerzy Kedziora, which we hope stay there forever.
