A Dock Bug (Coreus marginatus) on a cluster of blackberries!

Of the 10 British species of Squashbug the Dock Bug (Coreus marginatus) is the commonest and largest species likely to be found in the southern half of the UK. This is an excellent time of year to find them as they feed in the sunshine on ripening blackberrries and other fruits and seeds in preperation for hibernation.

I recently found a pair of Nikon fiber optic lights on Craigslist for a bargain and it has really improved my macro and micro photography by allowing me to properly illuminate my subjects for stacking purposes. This stink bug eye was shot at about 14x magnification and with only stacking 20 shots I got a decently sharp image. I think the next time I try this I will use more frames.

I was able to get this image of a Yellow Cheeked Honeyeater having a feed on some flying insect recently - hope you like it!

Thanks for any comment, views or favorites - most appreciated!

Have a wonderful day and weekend!

Approx 6mm. They fly as much as they crawl.

(114/366) I haven't got a bug butt photo for today but I have got a Bug Box. Like we really need more things to pack when we do eventually move but I couldn't resist buying this for just €4.99 from Lidl.

This nice bug was found by my cousin. I captured this image in the Great Nemunas Loops regional park near the Nemunas river. The bug seemed very interesting for me because of black spot on its body, it looks like a money-box. ;)

Please have a view of full size... Thanks :)

Now I’m speechless

Over the edge and just breathless

I never thought that I’d catch this

Love bug again

Hopeless head over heels in the moment

I never thought that I’d get hit

With this love bug again ♥ ,.

Seen in Epping Forest. Shame about the out-of-focus shoulder pad, I'll know next time to have a larger DOF for one of these beasts.

I and Rasik were on a wild walk when Rasik spotted this BUG, and we both were ready with our cameras, as soon as we had started there was another one, telling us - Wait me too....... ( and both were in our cameras... wait for next upload...)

Punaise des arbres et buissons que l'on rencontre du printemps à l'automne puis se cachent en hiver dans l'écorces des arbres.

Plant bug and bushes that are encountered from spring to autumn and then hides in winter in the tree' barks.

I don't know the name of that bug. Does anybody know it's name?

The length of that bug is just about 2mm and unfortunately I had no tripod with me. Therefore this is a free hand shot, made just with the help of my E-M1 in body image stabilizer.
