Saw this seed head and thought the colours were fantastic. I don't know what flower it is from - is anyone able to identify the species?

The typical Gothic architecture that characterises many buildings in the city and which culminates with the magnificent structure of Palazzo Ducale was characterised by an innovation that reached the city at the turn of the 15th century; it may have changed little in the actual building structure, but brought considerable changes to the decorative elements. Ca' D'Oro represents the highest and most complete example of this new wave of architecture. The building was built between 1421 and 1440 by Marino Contarini, a wealthy Venetian merchant, on the site where a Venetian Byzantine residence had previously stood. At the end of the 19th century, it became the property of Giovanni Meduna who made sweeping changes to the palazzo, completely unrelated to the original building. A Turinese Baron named Giorgio Franchetti purchased Ca D'Oro in 1894; he set about immediately to liberate it from the additions made by Meduna and restored the interior of the home as much as possible to its 15th century state. Franchetti added the beautiful mosaic to the floor in the ground floor portico, executed on the pattern of the mosaics in St. Mark's basilica, as well as the two-tone white and red marble decorations to the exterior walls. Baron Franchetti, who amassed an important collection of works of art, decided at the time he purchased Ca D’Oro that he wanted to make it a museum for his collections and the architecture of the palazzo. Then, World War I broke out and the Baron found himself in dire economic conditions; he decided to donate Ca' D'Oro and his collection to the city. The city administration carried on and financed his commitment to collecting and added other collections to the Franchetti treasures. The Baron was kept on as a consultant to city officials and worked together to make the Museum to what it is today.

At Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, a team of rangers armed with assault rifles follows the herd of southern white rhinos around the park on foot 24/7 to protect them from poachers. At shift change, they will walk tourists in to see the animals enjoying their afternoon siesta. This was thrilling, especially since we were on foot, which lent it much more immediacy than being up in a safari vehicle. And it wasn’t even planned -- but when the ranger at the gate asked our driver if we wanted to see the rhinos, of course we piped up and said yes.
