Wasn't easy to get the focus right as the slice of orange was bobbing in the water ... didn't want to increase the ISO, so it was a longer exposure and deleting a lot of images ;))

My birthday bubbly was actually raindrops on the car windscreen lit by the morning sun :D
Playing with other ideas that may be cliché but everything feels like it's been done before. I'm going to freeze the tulip for tomorrow's image. I adore the other images I have seen of flowers frozen in water and want to try my hand at that setup.
You see the fence and outdoor lighting of a beer garden that's part of a notorious student pub here in my home town (it is currently being renovated, so this is an archive photo)
I did some experimental photos one evening in February 2020 with the nifty fifty f/1.4 wide open
Today is one of these days I just need some colourful bokeh to cheer myself up and I hope you enjoy it too : ))

CN K909, the Glenn-Hawthorne transfer, crosses Bubbly Creek on the unique 1906 Page bascule bridge after running around its train at Bridgeport. Bubbly Creek gets its name from the days of the Union Stock Yards when blood and entrails from livestock would be dumped in the creek. The creek was so contaminated that a large portion was filled in south of 37th Street. This bridge historically carried the Alton (GM&O), Santa Fe, and Illinois Central over that disgusting, dirty river.
I haven't posted photos of my fish lately, so I thought it's time to dig into my archives. One member of my "underwater family", Comet. So called because it swims as fast as a comet!

A male Blue Dasher from the archives - small & very common but also one of our handsomest dragons. Females run smaller and can be tiny - often perching far from water.

we love our koi and everyone has a name... we had 12 and few weeks ago, we noticed that our beautiful Blondie, who we bought in 2017, was acting strange... she would eat and then spit the food out... thinking she swallowed a pebble from the bottom and had a blockage, we couldn't do anything about it... then there were days she acted fine... but last night we noticed her scales lifting... not good... and this morning I found she had died... very sad, she was so beautiful...
Sometimes my bubbly personality just shows itself.
