A productive morning down the lake today. The mist was hanging around and this was my last shot at 9am. I waded into the water (wellies on) for a better angle and caused the ripple effect. I quite like it, I think the texture adds to the focal point. The lake is much higher than normal, I presume the bubbles are trapped air...

When it is cold, you make frozen bubbles.

This is a close-up HDR photo of detergent soap bubbles in a plastic tray. I took this image outside, so the larger soap bubbles are reflecting the overhead canopy of trees, and most of them are reflecting the iridescence elicited by the bright sunlight. The detail in this frame filling photo is best appreciated when seen full screen in Slideshow.

Compositionally Challenged Week 2 - Bubbles

I used a piece of glass from a picture frame, placed it over a photo from last year's hummingbirds calendar, and blew soapy mixture onto the glass with a straw.

CC January Bonus Challenge - Bright Colors

Bubbles are weird things.

They have more colours than a rainbow.

They're not fragile. They're infinitely flexible.

They're not what we think they are.

Probably the best of my frozen bubbles from yesterday evenings attempt. Depth of field is too shallow, but I'm Ok with it.

This one is shot at night with LED light source.

If you ever wondered how a totally frozen bubble looks like, here it is. Once the soapy water hits the frozen temperatures, the very fine film breaks and whats left is something that looks like egg white. It takes as little of 33 to 35 seconds to get to the frozen state, and almost immediately breaks, which is the sad part.

Making bubbles is totally amazing, a favorite hobby of mine, and it doesn't mater to me which season we are in to make them, but if it happens to be during winter, afterwards there is nothing like a fireplace and hot chocolate to warm up again!

So many type of bubbles, and here is the scientific way to know more about them:

Bubbles dance across the blue

Riding the waves in front of you

Clinging to all they do meet

Reflecting the light, that they eat

Sailing slowly over the lake

In whichever direction it does take

Joining together, they multiply

Growing, growing, until they die

It is shaped like a coaster with raised sides. It has an amazing amount of BUBBLES throughout! Total size is 5 in wide, 1.25 in high. This image is 2 in wide, 1.25 in high.

Bubbling , bubbling around the stone

Guarding the depths, Neptune's home

Gathering together, over the deep

Filled with tears that God did weep

Bubbling, bubbling, multiplying

On the blue, they are lying

Guarding the deep, Neptune's home

Where they kiss the waiting stone

Very high humidity provided a great opportunity to do nighttime bubble photography. Morgan County, Alabama - The NAPG theme for June 2017 is Summer Nights. (Nighttime bubble photography inspired by Flickr friend, Tommie Peterson.)

I work in a public environment so hand washing is critical to keeping those germs at bay.

This picture is poopy because of course I waited until the afternoon thunderstorm rolled in to try to take pictures. :/

I'm really happy with this dress though! I used some of the lovely fabric Sher sent me a few weeks ago.

Adventures in bubble play has me wanting to experiment more. Now that our cold weather is settling in it's time to stay in and play. I used a light panel but want to try using a flash and experiment some more. Any tips on how to get sharper results? I used my macro lens and a 36mm extension tube. Maybe I am too close?
