A productive morning down the lake today. The mist was hanging around and this was my last shot at 9am. I waded into the water (wellies on) for a better angle and caused the ripple effect. I quite like it, I think the texture adds to the focal point. The lake is much higher than normal, I presume the bubbles are trapped air...
I tried to get a picture for several mornings until I got this on the last day before a warm spell. Even though temperatures were low for this area--10-15 degrees F--my bubbles wouldn't freeze. This one had the most crystals of all that I tried.

I find that my pond is a fascinating place no matter what the season is. These are frozen bubbles along the edge of the pond. Makes for fun abstract photos! :)
Bubbling , bubbling around the stone
Guarding the depths, Neptune's home
Gathering together, over the deep
Filled with tears that God did weep
Bubbling, bubbling, multiplying
On the blue, they are lying
Guarding the deep, Neptune's home
Where they kiss the waiting stone
The colors at the Fountain Paint Pots in Yellowstone National Park seemed more intense while contrasted against the snowy winter backdrop.

Bubbles created from below
Ride the water, and they flow
Along the stream , around the bend
Until they make their final end
Popped by fate, they are gone
Quickly replaced by another one
That rises suddenly from below
To ride the water, as it does flow
I work in a public environment so hand washing is critical to keeping those germs at bay.
Macro Mondays theme of Staying Healthy.
Probably the best of my frozen bubbles from yesterday evenings attempt. Depth of field is too shallow, but I'm Ok with it.
This one is shot at night with LED light source.
Compositionally Challenged Week 2 - Bubbles
I used a piece of glass from a picture frame, placed it over a photo from last year's hummingbirds calendar, and blew soapy mixture onto the glass with a straw.

Bubbles dance across the blue
Riding the waves in front of you
Clinging to all they do meet
Reflecting the light, that they eat
Sailing slowly over the lake
In whichever direction it does take
Joining together, they multiply
Growing, growing, until they die
Just messing about again , this time with fizzy water and pencils, I quite liked the shaped bokeh created when I moved my light source :-)
I think maybe I should have used room temperature liquid instead of out of the fridge though, as I spent quite a bit of time wiping the glass down!
I hope you have had a wonderful Wednesday.
