Scene along the Peekaboo Loop trail. It's one of my favorite shots from our hike. I'll also post the color version in a few more days. It's been my desktop background for weeks.
One of the great experiences at Bryce Canyon is getting down inside among the Hoodoos.
I'm not sure what's happening to me, but I'm enjoying these shots with people in them...
Have a great weekend and thanks for looking!

I can't remember the turnout but I hiked down a little way into Bryce Canyon on one of the days of my Fall 2017 vacation.
This photo is just being processed now and I added a composite sky (from a photo taken near home here in SoCal last week.) using Photoshop CC's new "sky replacement" filter.

At the end of our Escalante trip, we skated through Bryce for the night. Cold, but beautiful! I tried so hard to make sure the quality of the light here reflected the actual event. I usually go so over the top.... this one is a more natural look. I love this place!

I liked Bryce Canyon so well that I thought I would post another one for your viewing pleasure!
Walking in and among the various hoodoo rock formations was like being on a different planet! It gives one a very "unworldly" feeling and I kind of liked that!
I hope all my dear Flickr friends are staying well and safe. So far I have and I have been traveling all over the Intermountain West.
Sorry my friends, but I'm not letting this coved business keep me indoors staring at the 4 walls... that's just not me! :-)
Take care everyone and be well.
No use of my Bryce Canyon image in any form without my permission! Thank you kindly...
Bryce Canyon National Park in Southwestern Utah is famous for large collection of geological structures called hoodoos and other interesting rock formations. Was not expecting to see this park during this December visit. So nice to see these hoodoos with fresh white snow on top.

This is a 3 exposure blend by hand in Photoshop. Many techniques used on this image are demonstrated in my recently released set of videos "Image Editing Volume I". A link can be accessed through my Flickr profile. Due to more strict enforcement of their rules, Flickr has asked me and many others to take down info such as links to personal websites, workshop information, and editing videos. However, it is still allowed to have such information in one's Flickr Profile.
Bryce is well known for its early morning glow as sunlight hits various features along the wall. It changes by the minute. I found it to be a healthy photography challenge that will make me go back and try to do better. But it is a great place to witness some of these special lights and shadows.

So many beautiful views can be seen from Inspiration Point. The hoodoos are just so fascinating and make for wonderful photo opportunities like this one. The blue sky makes a lovely contrast with the warm colors in the rocks. The ridge I was standing on is Paunsaugunt Plateau looking down into a natural amphitheater below. .
Bryce Canyon National Park, a sprawling reserve in southern Utah, is known for crimson-colored hoodoos, which are spire-shaped rock formations. The park’s main road leads past the expansive Bryce Amphitheater, a hoodoo-filled depression lying below the Rim Trail hiking path. It has overlooks at Sunrise Point, Sunset Point, Inspiration Point and Bryce Point. Prime viewing times are around sunup and sundown.
The Bryce Canyon floor yielded views like this, a hoodoo garden sculpted au naturel'. We had so looked forward to this canyon hike and it didn't disappoint, May, 2025.
Bryce Canyon Utah.
Amazing place, wish I had more time there when it wasn't so icy to hike or too muddy to walk. Mar 2024

Colorful Bryce is always a photo opt. Each movement of clouds sun and temperature creates new brilliance. Enjoy
Bryce canyon National Park (Utah, USA) is one of the most geologically interesting and stunningly beautiful places on earth. I highly recommend a visit if you are ever in the Utah area. I'd suggest hiking down into the canyon.

Bryce Canyon National Park has it all--colorful rock formations, twisted trees and glorious vistas.
