If I hadn't seen this dress on Rosedevenise's photostream, I wouldn't have known what we had. It's been buried in a Barbie trunk my grandchildren have been playing with. Fortunately they weren't too fond of this dress so it's still in great shape. It arrived in a big lot of Barbie clothes that I bought for them before I was really interested in Barbies myself. I love this dress all covered with butterflies. Momma would have called it a house dress.

Our local Barred Owl has been glad to help us out with this Spring's chipmunk population explosion. Just watched it swoop down, nail a chipmunk on the ground in tall grass by the back fence and carry it off into the trees in deep shade for a lesiurely brunch.
This is my grandfather. I realize that for mother's day, this photo is a tad unorthodox, but bear with me. His expressions (especially when he is eating) always make me smile. He's the kind of grandfather who loves to chime into the conversation at inopportune moments and exclaim various things that may have nothing to do with the conversation. Yet we love him all the same, and he enjoys reading the New York Times and sleeping. I am actually named after him (we share birthdays), and so our relationship has that special tinge of closeness that comes with the territory.
