I'm slowly fixing up an old house I bought years ago in Newcastle, Texas. Browsing ebay one day I found this window for sale. It was salvaged from a house being torn down in Oologah, Oklahoma, only a mile or two from Dog Iron Ranch, the birth place of Will Rogers. Instead of having it shipped to my home in New England, bring it down to Newcastle, and possibly getting it broken in transit, I chose to pick it up when I was in Texas on one of my photo trips. I met the seller in Stroud, OK, paid him his $125, and carted it back to Newcastle. This pic shows it in its new home. It originally was a bathroom window, and it still is. It's rigged up with traditional sash weights and their incredibly squeaky rollers. All the windows in my place are new thermopanes, except for this one. I've hunted all over the internet, but can find no information on this window. Maybe it was a one-off??

One of my favorite things is having a doll beside me while I browse the web. Today, it was Madelyn. I don't spend as much time with her as I do my other dolls but I still enjoy her just the same. It's not like she's the least favorite or anything like that. I love her dearly. I have 8 full dolls right now and still more on my list and I worry I want be able to give them all the attention they deserve.
A bit about Madelyn
Madelyn is a Mystic. Mystics are a new race of people. Nobody is really sure where they came from but many believe they are a hybrid species from Cyphers and humans. Because of their connection to Cyphers many people don't like Mystics and look down on them. For that reason, Mystics tend to live away from civilization, in the hot desert.
Mystics are sometimes born with powers. Those born with powers have markings on their bodies. Most of the time the markings appear when a Mystic has reached adolescence. However, if a child is born with markings they are known to be very powerful. Oddly enough, male Mystics are not blessed with powers.
Madelyn is Melody's younger sister by two years, but she's quite a bit more mature and lady like. She loves to joke around with Melody and shares everything with her. The pair give their adopted parents an endless amount of trouble. They are the darling princesses of the Sacred Kingdom, despite them being Mystics and non-biological children of Prince Arden and Lady Lucia.
While Melody doesn't really display any hidden powers, Madelyn is able to sense events that are about to transpire. It's not like she can predict the future. However, she has been able to save those around. Her power is strongest right before an event and usually when the outcome is bad or dangerous.
Even if like me you're an atheist, growing up in an ostensibly christian country, you unconsciously absorb the idea that the christians are never the bad guys - gentle Jesus meek and mild and all that. Although it's a pacifist religion it still supported both sides in WWI & WWII. I have no idea if the above is historically accurate or not, but the possibility throws into the light how we can all too readily be unquestioning about 'our' history. Unlike the animal kingdom, we have no natural enemies. Our enemies are a matter of choice.
