We saw lots of these on our trip - in fact I have never seen so many deer in North America as we did this time
#macromondays #M
I decided to share this image for the upcoming #macromondays theme called #M
Size of the macron is aprox. 3 cm = 1,18"
Macarons are delicate, colorful French confections made with almond flour, egg whites, and sugar. They have a smooth, crisp shell with a soft, chewy interior and are typically sandwiched together with a luscious filling such as ganache, buttercream, or jam. Known for their wide range of vibrant colors and sophisticated flavors—from classic vanilla and chocolate to exotic matcha, lavender, or passion fruit—macarons are both a feast for the eyes and a treat for the taste buds. Their elegant appearance and melt-in-your-mouth texture make them a favorite for special occasions, gifts, or an indulgent everyday delight.

One of our regular Coal Tits.
I heard on the radio they take food away and save it for later.
They are certainly always busy with their take aways.
A doe and her fawn browse the spring hillside for edibles. Fortunately for them, anything they put in their mouth is edible in this lush environment. This is a companion image to the one I posted yesterday--same time, same place--a little more intimate, with hopefully the same peaceful easy feeling of gentle beings going about their business.

“A heavy mist enveloped Dartmoor, and from Combestone Tor the great earth ridges swept southerly away all smothered in vapour. Below the broken rock-piles of the tor a steep hill fell sharply, and here nothing but a foxglove or two and a withered white-thorn rose stark against the dim wall of moving mist behind them. In varying densities it floated, and sometimes it was suddenly rent and parted like a ragged veil, to reveal the gorges of Dart beneath Combestone and the neighbouring hills beyond. The world visible at these moments was dimmed to delicate jade; it appeared and vanished at the freak of the mist; and now the crowns of Yar and Sharp and Bel limned ghostly out of the welter and now again they vanished, while lower slopes were revealed. The wind dealt similarly with sound, for the cry of Dart rose up fitfully through it, and came and went, now clear, now hushed by the lull and lift of the breezes.
Beside the tor, where stood its squat and weathered piles with fingers and filaments of vapour stealing among them, there browsed a sheep or two and a shaggy mare with a little mouse-coloured foal. The infant thing squeaked and galloped hither and thither, then it sucked and presently lay down to sleep. The grey air rang and rippled with lark music, and one might have heard four separate songs tinkling together up, up, into the aerial place. Then came also another sound from the hidden Moor a strange, intermittent growl, as of some gigantic animal busy there. The muffled noise persisted, but its cause was hidden.”

67 boulevard Saint Germain, 75005 Paris, France
Two main Albums are located on the crossing of boulevard Saint Germain and boulevard Saint Jacques. Who's already around Latin Quarter and fountain St-Michel, will find them easily. One of them - Album Comics - sells American stuff, all the new Marvel, DC, Dark Horse and indie books, but also the most important French releases. Shop's windows are covered with statues, busts and vinyl toys. There's also very good artbook section, with all the making-of movie books, sketchbooks, artist artbooks and US and Asian picture books. Artbooks in general tend to be heavy and imported ones are not cheap, so it's possibly the best idea just to browse and remember all the cool stuff. And then to go home and get them from the net, without the need to drag them around the airports and planes. (From the shop's viewpoint it's not a nice thing to say, I know
This image captures a moment of retail browsing. A woman, likely an adult, is standing outside a shop, intently looking at the window display. The shop appears to specialize in toys and novelties, as evidenced by the numerous stuffed animals and other items visible inside. The shop's branding is playful and eye-catching, with the name 'LABUBU' repeated in a vibrant, cartoonish font. The woman's attire – a long, flowing dress – contrasts with the playful nature of the shop's aesthetic.
An evening walk is made all the better by an encounter with this handsome Roebuck just as the sun was about to go down...☺️
Elk are one member of the deer family that both graze (eat grasses) and browse (eat leaves).
The bulls (or more properly, stags) are quite docile in the summer and are either loners or hang out with other bulls in small groups. In the fall, during the rut, the bulls are unpredictable and dangerous and should not be approached.

I never posted a landscape photo on my Photostream before, a part those few occasions where I used them as background for Lego or other collectibles photos.
I usually focus on storytelling using my collectibles and it always requires so much effort I don’t have a lot of time for other hobby activities and so I prioritize.
Over the years I took a very large amount of landscape photos. It is was the genre that saw me start photography years ago.
Browsing all the photos I took over the years would require a lot of time and “prioritization” strikes back.
However few days ago I managed to take this photo as I was trying to set up an outdoor scene for my Lego and action figures photos (it’s getting quite hot here and sometimes it’s not easy to set up the scenes for those photos) and I decided to share it with you :)
I won’t bother you with geographic details but if you are curious the location of this photo is near the Cinque Terre, a rather famous location in Liguria, Italy.
I hope you like this photo :)
This male of chamois was quetly browsing on an alpine grassland at about 1600 metres of altitude. This photo captures the spring moulting coat period. The new coat is vibible on the head whereas on the body side is still visible the old winter coat.
As I browse through Flickr and other sites, I am at times blown away by the images I see. It can be by a majestic landscape, a subtle expression in a portrait, the frozen action of an athlete, the colors and shapes of an abstract or just the light. My heart will skip a beat, my pulse will quicken, I am moved. I am forced to stop, examine everything a bit closer, to think about how and why the photographer captured the image. It will circle back to my own work and I will try to think about whoever is viewing my images and hope they too will be moved in some way.
Yesterday I listened to a Ted Radio Hour podcast "The Meaning of Work" www.npr.org/podcasts/510298/ted-radio-hour. One of the people telling their stories was Dame Steve Shirley, an inspiring and fascinating woman. One of the things she said was "I have to make my life worth saving, and each day you spend as if it would be your last." I love this so much and it is made more meaningful when you calculate out the days of life expectancy. My 5 year old daughter and I figured out yesterday that one million hours is 114.155251 years and there are 36,524.25 days in 100 years. Some days it feels like our lives will go on forever but when you stop and acknowledge that there is a limit to our existence it can make you view your life in a very different and profound way. Start today and make your life worth saving!

Just browsed through the groups with a weekly theme, wondered why Crazy Tuesday is not closed - is it Tuesday already? Oppsie, almost over. What's the theme? On the top.
I'm so fed up with rovers that I already started to make 'normal' toy photos to have a running start in March... wait, make that a cycling start on a rotten, wooden railing.

Trail in the Rigi mountains in Switzerland. It was an incredible day because once we went above the clouds it was warm, sunny and nice.

I wonder why the blues in the Lightroom display and on the web browser look different.
Browsing my archives while waiting for a local analog photographer to visit me this evening :) (not many of us around here) - lot of cool stuff in my archives
This particular part of St. Thomas seems to have many little alleys, each with its own characteristics and each appears to have many shops ranging from boutique, gift, bakery, bar, ... to eatery, coffee shop, etc... And, of course, the tourists just love visiting these alleys in search of some unique souvenirs as well. 😀
Have a pleasant day, everyone...

Captured this juvenile Little Blue Heron browsing the water hyacinth near Bay Area Park for any tasty tidbit that might show itself! We've had a number of these youngsters show up on the bayou as of late but most have kept their distance! Photo taken on Armand Bayou!

White-tailed Jackrabbit eating the bark of a fallen branch, with his head framed by the fork of the branch. Wascana, Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. 12 January 2022
After placing bird feeders in our back yard we've had several new species of birds arrive. Among them are American Goldfinch's. I've seen one (maybe two) in the past 23 years we've lived here but this year many have descended upon our abode. This male seems choosy in his food selection.
Since I can't travel because of the current pandemic I might as well take advantage of the opportunities that're right under my nose.

The largest terrestrial animals in the world is dwarfed by a giant acacia tree in NgoroNgoro Crater. The African Elephant grazes and browses continuously to consume the quantities of food it needs to sustain its large size. Tender acacia leaves are a favorite food and many a tree succumbs to the brute force of the elephant. Smaller trees are frequently knocked down or torn apart in by elephants, sometimes leaving large swaths of forest destroyed. Elephants, when not poached, can live in excess of 70 years. Of the over 100 species of acacia, most are smaller and have less longevity that the tree shown. A few can reach great heights and attain greater age. But the battle between this mighty acacia and the seemingly small elephant is constant. Even though he won't be able to knock this tree over, its lower branches will remain at risk. The ground is strewn with large branches pulled down and stripped of succulent leaves. And in nature's struggle for survival even the might small can survive. #iLoveNature #iLoveWildlife #WildlifePhotography in #Tanzania #Nature in #Africa #Elephants #AfricanElephants #Acacia #DrDADBooks #Canon #WildlifeConservation
