A darling little White-browed Scrubwren (Sericornis frontalis) hopped very close to me at the base of our garden Strelitzia. My camera is very lousy at non-macro shots, so for the bird to be so clear, it had to be so near! [Lower Blue Mountains, NSW]

Taken on the second leg of a circular wak on the North York Moors and Coast ... This part of the walk from Ravenscar to high point on Fylingdales Moor (partly on The Lyke Wake Walk) a complete contrast to the coastal section of "leg-one" .... The moors are big, wide, open and today really quite bleak but with a wild beauty.

500 km SE of Ulaanbaatar, Eastern Mongolia. In the east all were Yellow-browed and in west all were Humes.
I have to confess that this bird has really captured my imagination and a few days on the East coast of Yorkshire allowed me to pay several visits to the Bempton cliffs. I had to be patient but the bird showed every day and at times I was lucky to get eye-level fly-pasts.
