This bird breeds in Siberia which means it's travelled over 4,500 miles
Quite a rare bird for us in England, the Yellow-browed Warbler seen at Hurley, Warwickshire on the 7.1.26 (Olympus OM1 + 150/600 lens, equivalent 1,200mm of lens) processed using Photoshop
Another bird image I took last week - this one from a visit to Walka Water Works, (Maitland, NSW; Australia).
Here a Red-Browed Finch sits atop a Honey Gem Grevillea.

There weren't many birds on the Tablelands Highway, but on one single flowering tree beside the road dozens of birds of four different species were in a feeding frenzy. The tree was thickly covered in blossom, a treat for nectar eaters and others who don't usually bother.

RSPB Bempton Cliffs, East Yorkshire. One final one from the Albert session, the classic view of him gliding effortlessly round and round the elephant's head at Staple Newk below the viewpoint. In length he is not much larger than a Gannet, but the wingspan (some 8ft) is considerably bigger. In 40 minutes never saw him flap his wings at all, he just rides the air currents.
New bird! Very similar to the buff-sided but in monochrome. There were a few of these feisty, little robins being quite vocal around the campground. Doesn't look too shabby for 6400ISO!
The bird was in the shadows of the treetops and I didn't have the right settings, so I saved this as best as I could. At least you can see the bird's features in fine detail.

This is the first time I've managed to get a red-browed finch, they're normally just a bit too fast or too good at hiding. I was lucky to get this one before it hoped down into the tall grass then took off.
A snail kite was seen holding an apple snail in it's beak while perched on a fencepost in Osceola County near Kenansville, Florida.

One of the most colourful and beautiful birds from Costa Rica and one of my favourites.
Seeing and photographing a Quetzal and the Chlorophonia was at top of my wish list. It wasn’t at all easy to find, but finally, on the last day of our stay in Costa Rica, we had the privilege of seeing both, and simultaneously. While we had the splendid Quetzal in front of us, behind us there was a group of Chlorophonia hopping between tree branches. They didn’t allow us many opportunities. The lack of light and the terrain inclination made it very difficult to obtain pictures, but it truly was a unique and unforgettable moment.
Taken in the Costa Rica Highlands.
White-browed fantail -Rhipidura aureola, in the grounds of one of the hotels I stayed at in 3030 on my second trip to Sri Lanka.Taken on my a99 II and Sal 70-400mm G SSM II, both of which I have now sold along with my a77 II and A-mount lenses.
New sony system arrives tomorrow and my next trip is in February.

(Mimus saturninus) Species #1080
The Chalk-browed Mockingbird (Mimus saturninus) is an adaptable species, often found in parks and gardens, and in parts of South America its range is expanding as forested areas are cleared. Like other mockingbirds, it has a loud, varied song, and most often forages on the ground.
4472 Flying Scotsman passes the site of the current landslip at Eden Brows with a southbound Cumbrian Mountain Express on April 27th 1991.There may well have been some problems then as some trees had been felled near where I stood which opened up the shot.

This small warblerlike bird is rich cinnamon below and gray above. The namesake rufous brow is fairly obvious but blends into the face. Bill is sharply pointed. Sexes alike. Singles or pairs are uncommon in shrubby woodlands and edges in northern Colombia and extreme western Venezuela.
This one was photographed in Colombia guided by Neotropic Photo Tours.
