The Black-browed Albatross currently (May 2022) resident on the cliffs at RSPB Bempton at Flamborough Head, East Yorkshire. Normally, this species of albatross would be found in the South Atlantic Ocean but this one appears to favour the Yorkshire coast as this is the second year it has spent the summer here, along with many thousands of Gannet, Razorbill, Guillemot, Puffin and other seabirds.

The lessons is a nice contrast vs. the Turquosie-browed Motmot, at first glance they are identical - it's that eye that gives it away for me!

These seven photos will be the last posts from my Costa Rica trip. I had a wonderful time and even though I lost my camera and broke my arm, I am left with lovely memories of the heat, beaches, jungles and long road trips. Lots of fun. Pura Vida!
This Motmot was my most exciting find and completely unexpected as I was trying to photograph a different bird, which disappeared from the scene.
White-browed Woodswallow, Artamus superciliosus
≠======================≠
The White-browed don't always come every year, but this is shaping up to be a top year.
Nest space gets pretty congested and this one has settled in on a broken branch.
All autumn whenever I've been wandering around my local reserves I've been hoping to hear the characteristic call of a yellow-browed warbler. I've seen them before but not in Northants and it has therefore been a high priority for my county list. We were visiting people after Christmas and lo and behold, not one but two yellow-browed warblers turn up at one of my local patches, Summer Leys. After a couple of days of hoping they would stay, I visited and enjoyed a couple of hours with these brilliant little birds

Unusual to see these out in the open, small flocks usually babble away in the bushes and rarely venture out.
Spain; Caravaca de la Cruz, Murcia 6/11/26.
Never thought I'd see one of these in Murcia! One or two do pass through each autumn, it's just a matter of connecting with them. This one was found the previous day, normally they're gone by the next day.
A young lady with a ponytail grimaces slightly upon noticing a total stranger taking her candid photo as she talks to the owner of a small convenience store about the total amount the latter needs to pay for the goods she has ordered online and which have just been delivered to her.
The said young lady is a cashier at the local branch of a chain-supermarket, according to the driver of the delivery closed van whom I queried just after this shot.
Captured at a village in Subic, Zambales, Philippines.
It's not that I am obsessed with red-browed finches (Neochmia temporalis). They were just coincidentally queued so that you got one on a grass stem a few days ago and this one today.
This one was part of a flock feeding on this cropped grassy patch. The light was just too good for me to ignore them. This one? It was very aware of me, careless and quite happy to pose.

”The mottled ant of sorrow and pleasure in me
A long path passing through a forest in a fairy-tale
In my body, the worldly whims of the wells
On my brow, a charcoal sketch of the future
My mouth, a song with clipped wings
A solitary atlas of two blurred times
A hotel room made of tear candles
Sea gardens where even the sand blooms…”. — Şükrü Erbaş
I visited Inverell again last week. Instead of going to their dam and seeing the creek in town i went out to a lake called Lake Inverell. A very straight forward name.
The only previous time i had been to the lake was around 4-5 years ago. Back then it had more water and a lot more vegetation in and around the water.
Without such vegetation there were no swans or coots but i still saw plenty of birds there. One of those birds was this lovely little Red-browed Finch.
