This is what happens when you put the main orfice in the slot for the pilot light

Taken at Buckstone Edge in Yorkshire. It was windy and showery but the breaks in the cloud made for excellent light and shadow and rich colours. The rocks are Millstone Grit and the view is eastward into Yorkshire.

Hundreds of Periodical Cicadas (mostly Magicicada tredecassini) emerged from a small area in an old field at the Penny's Pend Reserve on 2 May 2011. I caught this one expelling some fluid from its abdomen.

Brood X of 17-year periodical cicadas (Magicicada sp.) is emerging now (May 20, 2021) in its home range. These newly emerged adults are on an iron fence post in front of Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.

Tough to get good shots without a tripod, but these cicadas are big enough that I can back up far enough to get a pretty clear shot.
