One of the brooders in the nursery with baby cockatoos in it. Babies can't be in room temperature until they are well feathered.
Work has begun on the brooder we are making for the 60 chicks set to arrive next weekend. We started by removing plywood from a workroom. A trip to the farm store was needed for chicken wire.
4 different broods 2 times a coot one swan (she looked around but she wouldn't look to me)and another coot with 2 eggs in it (you have to look good but there are 2 eggs in it!).

Brood X (Brood 10) or "the Great Eastern Brood," is one of 15 broods of periodical cicadas that appear regularly throughout the eastern United States. It has the greatest range and concentration of any of the 17-year cicadas. The brood's first major emergence after 2021 is predicted to occur during 2038.
Found literally millions at Huntley Meadows Park in Virginia this morning - entomologist's dream....
