On Saturday, February 11, a large immigrant-led coalition held a rally at Washington Square Park at 2pm to call out mayor Bill De Blasio and City Council members for an end to the city’s collaboration with ICE, a stop to the criminalization of all immigrants documented or undocumented, people with criminal convictions, workers, gender non-conforming folks, the poor, people with disabilities, Muslims, women, and all people of color and permanently abolishing the Broken Windows policing.

Evidence of the broken window vandalism that my place of employment, Bennett Martin Public Library, suffered from some jackass at 2:00 A.M. on Thursday July 28th, 2011. The police caught and charged the moron, but still...

Still looking very much abandoned, the fire escape is gone. Using the fire escape, one of the two doors you see here was the entrance that the kids were using.

Well, here it is, I go out to my car and lo and behold! It was broken into. I have since ascertained that several vehicles on my street had been broken into. Nothing seems to be missing from my vehicle. Which is a relief. Mayhap fire decided to dispatch on something, and my radio scared them off. I like my little security system.
