Our trip to Norway ended with a ride home in an AA Relay truck!
We flew back in to Bristol Airport (no fog this time!) and stayed at the same motel one more night. The car was fine when we drove down the road to the Fox and Goose for dinner. The following morning, just as we set off, the front suspension collapsed!
Broken coil spring. The AA came out very promptly, and organized a tow all the way back to the garage in Walberton.
It could have been worse ... it could have happened on the way to Bristol, before the holiday.

Civil servants in Whitehall change jobs much faster than in other countries or private sector organisations. Several departments lose a quarter of their staff each year, managers change roles every two years and some policy teams turn over almost entirely in just three years.
Such rapid turnover contributes to failures on some of government’s biggest priorities. Universal Credit went through five project directors in three years; policy teams are often starting from scratch, leaving ministers complaining that they are the institutional memory; and constant change of personnel in the Treasury undermines its oversight of government spending.
But what does this high turnover mean for the citizens who rely on government to make policy and deliver services? What causes this turnover? And what can be done about it?
At this event, Tom Sasse, Senior Researcher at the Institute for Government launched a new report, Moving on: the costs of high staff turnover in the civil service, based on newly released data.
To discuss the findings, our panel:
The Rt Hon. Lord Freud, former Minister of State at the Department for Work and Pensions
Anne Perkins, Journalist and former Deputy Political Editor at The Guardian
Lord O’Donnell, Chairman, Frontier Economics and former Cabinet Secretary
The event was chaired by Emma Norris, Director of Research, Institute for Government

I'm sad, but I knew it was going to die soon. The camera stopped working, then it wouldn't fully charge. Now the screen broke. What's scary is that the machine still works, my reminder alarms still ring.
"My favourite band is a witch."
I travelled 20 hours to see this band play their last show, and it was so completely worth it. No regrets.
This is a broken bench in Göteborg (Gothenburg) Sweden. I was traveling on Tram nr 6 to my school, and 2 persons sat on that bench and a loud cracling sound came from it and it fell. (6:47 AM)

Our garden service was at work the other day and I heard my car alarm go off. When I went to investigate this is what I found.
They must have kicked up a stone or something and smashed my window. Thankfully it was covered by my insurance and I didn't have to pay anything.
Next time I park the car lower down the driveway ...
