Broken - Still fighting.
I was inspired to do this after seeing an entry to this following competition.

Just for fun.
This unique little house stands facing north making it tough to get a good shot (guess I will have to wait for summer for better lighting).
Broken glass..........from my friend's shop window. Some mindless thug smashed the window after a night on the town. It look's as though some blood was left behind........let's hope it hurt really bad...!!!!

This is taken through a broken window on a door. I massively over-exposed it to see whether I could get what was on the other side (without waiting for my eyes to adjust stuck through a glass hole). you don't really see what's behind the hole, but I liked the effect anyway.
Guess where?
Things to consider:
1. Color of roof. Shingles are often brown or grey.
2. Shape of roof. A roof with this sort of bend is unusual (however this is NOT the Moulton Barn).
3. The toilet paper on the roof speaks to a certain type of inhabitant.

This angel has seen better days.
A rainy start to 2014 here. I ventured out with the hopes of capturing some rain shots, but need to look some of those over a little better. I decided to try a few shots on this statue. I liked this composition best, and felt that starting with a bit of a split tone would work best to start, but this is what I eventually settled upon. Hoping (and I guess praying) that the new year is a bit better on the creative side of things.

A neighbor of ours recently found out that she has bladder cancer. I went to her house today to drop off some mail that accidentally got delivered to our house, and I noticed that their welcome sign was broken like this. It made me sad, reminding me of how heartbroken she and her family must have felt when they heard the bad news.
Before I went back home, I fixed their sign. Hopefully she can beat the cancer, and they'll be able to fix their heartbreak as well.
I'm trying to figure out who's laughing at whom. Maybe he really has a spaceship? Maybe it really is broken? Maybe all it takes is money for parts, and I'm denying him that? Maybe because of my cynicism I'm going to prevent him from getting back to whatever planet he came from?!
what can I say... I like broken, discarded, abandoned things - as long as this doesn't apply to MY things.

I'm living in an empty room
With all the windows smashed
And I've got so little left to lose
That it feels just like I'm walking on broken glass
