...my mood as of today. been yet again rejected by a gallery. my "art" work was said not good enough. i feel broken when i put my heart and soul into something and told not good enough...rethinking my path.....
This is before I had the displaced right ankle repaired. What is the lesson here? Look before you leap. No good deed goes unpunished.
It's been like this for months, only sometimes it still works, which makes it exciting for me each time I open my laptop, as I never really know what to expect. I've had this thing for almost five years now, it's traveled every single mile I have, gone through a few falls and what not, so all in all I'm not complaining. That said, I AM kinda hoping some exec from Apple sees this and takes pity on me, (as a hardworking, idealistic young social entrepreneur and campaigner) and generously bestows upon me a new one. That would be cool.

I had my pot taken off 2 days early because I got it wet in the shower. The ankle is still very swollen. My skin was very dry and flaky. When the pot was taken off my ankle felt really weak and I felt quite queezy standing on my foot without the pot on for the first time.
365 Day 142. Shellac records, that’s old 78’s, were made with the resin from a small tree dwelling insect, stone dust and cotton floc, and maybe one or two other secret ingredients depending on the company producing them. This is the edge of a, sadly, broken one magnified a silly amount.

Taken at the old coffee shop behind what used to be Hon Ming Textiles. The Hon Ming building was vacant in November, apparently the owner decided to lease it out rather than continue running the textiles business. Another KL icon gone. :(
Just fell on my hand (again!) and it's quite painful.
Now instead of spending a ridiculous two hours waiting at the OLVG ER to get a picture taken, I'm going to try this first: crowd sourced medicine. Leave your diagnosis in the comments below and we'll see what floats to the top.
Macro Mondays - "Broken"
This is a broken shell that I found amongst a whole load of old trinkets in a jewellery box. The shell has broken at both ends, I guess this happened whilst being jostled with the jewellery and other trinkets.
This happened when I picked up the big camera for first time in a few weeks. I think it was punishing me for all the neglect. One of the little black hooks that holds the lens together had snapped off. Fortunately I have managed to pop it back together after finding some guidance here: www.flickr.com/photos/yospiff/3950553307/

Broken coil from the front left spring. Probably the result of one pot hole too many. Not so bad considering it lasted 15 years. Just hope the eibachs that replaced them last at least as long.

I have lately been exploring colors, just color without conception. This is one from that ongoing series. Canon S95.
This was my favorite chain that I wore everyday for years. It got tarnished and a little worn out before finally breaking. After a while, I decided to replace it with a new one.
Can you still smile when you know that at a very young age you were hardened by the realities and hardships of life? When dreams are just so far- fetched to even dare to dream?... When even smiles are but traces of pain and broken spirits? when even a mouthful of food to make it through the day takes an awful lot of while to come by?...

Taken from my new sketches for the semester, I attempted to combine a bit more realistic foreground with a middle/background that pulled from my past semester ideas. I'm not totally excited about this piece, but also don't hate it. I feel I could work on this a bit more and get a more successful piece.
