My floating head Namu Fai's broken body. I've managed to repair a lot of different Pullip/Taeyang issues, but this one has eluded me. I tried glue, apoxie sculpt, wrapping it with wire to reinforce the glue and nothing would hold. I started down the path to drill a hole in each piece to glue a wire inside it, but the drill bit broke off inside. I gave up and he eventually got a second hand body.
Looking down into the lower torso at the broken end of the piece that connects to the neck. If I remember correctly, the drill bit broke off down inside the hole. So there was nothing I could grab to pull it out.
I have just finished reading We Need to Talk About Kelvin by Marcus Chown. It's a popular book about cosmology, astronomy and quantum theory. In one passage he writes about the possible, but highly improbable, chance that if one threw the pieces of a broken cup on the ground they would reform themselves into a cup. I dropped this mug on the paving stones outside my front door and it smashed. I gathered the pieces and dropped them again. Some broke into more pieces - they did not reform themselves into an unbroken mug. I think one would have to do it very many times before that happened.

...my mood as of today. been yet again rejected by a gallery. my "art" work was said not good enough. i feel broken when i put my heart and soul into something and told not good enough...rethinking my path.....
It's been like this for months, only sometimes it still works, which makes it exciting for me each time I open my laptop, as I never really know what to expect. I've had this thing for almost five years now, it's traveled every single mile I have, gone through a few falls and what not, so all in all I'm not complaining. That said, I AM kinda hoping some exec from Apple sees this and takes pity on me, (as a hardworking, idealistic young social entrepreneur and campaigner) and generously bestows upon me a new one. That would be cool.

Can you still smile when you know that at a very young age you were hardened by the realities and hardships of life? When dreams are just so far- fetched to even dare to dream?... When even smiles are but traces of pain and broken spirits? when even a mouthful of food to make it through the day takes an awful lot of while to come by?...

Two streetkids in the Philippines. I offered them some money and food if they would smile for me. This is the best they could muster.

A racquet to play racqutball with. Eventually these racquets met the same fate. I took better care of my (I didn't smash them into to the wall when I missed a shot) than other people. Concrete walls will win over carbon fiber. I'm not sure why I have never thrown this broken racquet away.
The image is about 7 cm (2.75 inches) on the long edge.

This is the wristband peeled off of my timex ironman watch. The wristband was glued to the watch. Over time, the action of putting on and taking off the watch cracked the hard plastic on the watch itself.
The wristband is also very unusual in that it is a single piece. Most watches have to separate bands on hinges, but this one is a single continuous piece of rubber from end to end.

Macro Mondays - "Broken"
This is a broken shell that I found amongst a whole load of old trinkets in a jewellery box. The shell has broken at both ends, I guess this happened whilst being jostled with the jewellery and other trinkets.
Broken coil from the front left spring. Probably the result of one pot hole too many. Not so bad considering it lasted 15 years. Just hope the eibachs that replaced them last at least as long.
