Explored!

I've been absent, but I'll pick it up again.

Today I got a new set of tires for my car so that I can finally drive it now.

But everything is still so stressing. Parents are a pain sometimes when they yell in your ear and say hurtful things.

I can't wait until I get out of here.

Broken Pencils

Again using the Raynox attachment, and lit from above with a speedlight and mini softbox.

Fullsize recommended.

spied this while waiting to cross the road looking up at top of buildings,

A broken plastic tray with holding it's broken pieces. It is still useful even while comprimised.

Doesn't look broken to me :)

At this time of year we all make resolutions with every intention of keeping to them. Inevitably there are some which fall by the wayside, sometimes for good reasons.

As with everything in life, it is sensible to set ourselves realistic targets that we know we can achieve.

For example, I could say that I will give up smoking because that would be the smart thing to do but I know that promise won’t last, so I am not going to make it.

I suppose the best plan of action really is not to make any resolutions at all, that way nobody will be disappointed and any life changes that are achieved will appear as a bonus.

You can therefore ignore anything that is legible in this picture!

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ONE AND ALL..... one thing I will promise is that there will be another picture tomorrow.

True love can lead to a broken heart. So can leaving me with a pile of Love Hearts! Tragic I had to eat them all after.

This sculpture is by the main entrance to Fermilab. Below is Roadside America's description:

Straddling the road to the main entrance to Fermilab is the steel sculpture "Broken Symmetry," created by Fermilab's first director, Robert Wilson. The concept of symmetry breaking is very important in particle physics; it may explain why there is more matter than anti-matter in the universe (in other words, why there is stuff instead of no stuff). The sculpture, when viewed from underneath, is symmetrical, but when viewed from other positions is non-symmetrical. On one side it's black, on the other, orange (sort of like a chocolate/orange candy, just not as tasty). The sculpture's 21 tons of steel came from the aircraft carrier USS Princeton, which saw extensive action during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. The Princeton was the also the ship that plucked the Apollo 10 astronauts from the drink in 1969. The reason why old aircraft carrier steel plates were hanging around Fermilab was that it was a cheap way to get metal to filter out background particles during accelerator experiments. -

A broken Window. I thought it was beautiful.

A sunrise on Broken Top. The last time I hiked outside of Sisters there was about 3 to 4ft. of snow on the ground, this time there were patches few and far between. Can't wait for the weather to get nice so I can hike up this.

another wine glass broken! :-( At least, I was finished drinking the wine.

Look, there I am in the egg white pouring out of the shell.

I broke my lightsaber, somebody know how to put it back together?

Another shot of the poor, broken iPhone.

what my leg looked like after the accident and the surgery. They placed 2 metal plates and used 11 screws to put me back together again.

ben broke his arm a little over a week ago. he was wrestling with friends in their front yard and apparently landed really wrong. this xray, 8 days later, shows that the break is not healing as they hoped. so we're off to the surgery center this afternoon to knock ben out, re-set this and prob put a couple pins in.

A work colleague demonstrating just how broken one of the office chairs really is...

If you've deliberately searched for a photograph of a broken office chair, I'd appreciate a comment / email telling me why. This is one of my most popular pictures, getting at least one view every day, but I'm not sure why!

About two weeks ago I purchased a brand new Randonee ski-set, and I have been craving to get out on the mountains to test them out ever since. But this kind of equipment doesn`t come cheap, so I had to work a whole lot of extra shifts at the hospital to get financially even. At the end of last week I had earned back most of what I had payed and was ready to go skiing this weekend with a friend of mine.

Or so I thought...

On my way home from working a double shift I slipped on the road and broke my ankle...

The irony isn`t lost upon me.

So there you have me, on the couch, for an undetermined number of weeks with my foot elevated and my brand new equpment serving only as props in a self portrait...

I had my pot taken off 2 days early because I got it wet in the shower. The ankle is still very swollen. My skin was very dry and flaky. When the pot was taken off my ankle felt really weak and I felt quite queezy standing on my foot without the pot on for the first time.

broken - FotoFriday

...my mood as of today. been yet again rejected by a gallery. my "art" work was said not good enough. i feel broken when i put my heart and soul into something and told not good enough...rethinking my path.....

This is before I had the displaced right ankle repaired. What is the lesson here? Look before you leap. No good deed goes unpunished.

I have forgotten all about this shot I took during a visit to Hoodlum Customs.

Taken at the old coffee shop behind what used to be Hon Ming Textiles. The Hon Ming building was vacant in November, apparently the owner decided to lease it out rather than continue running the textiles business. Another KL icon gone. :(

365 Day 142. Shellac records, that’s old 78’s, were made with the resin from a small tree dwelling insect, stone dust and cotton floc, and maybe one or two other secret ingredients depending on the company producing them. This is the edge of a, sadly, broken one magnified a silly amount.

broken lens in lightpipe

Just fell on my hand (again!) and it's quite painful.

Now instead of spending a ridiculous two hours waiting at the OLVG ER to get a picture taken, I'm going to try this first: crowd sourced medicine. Leave your diagnosis in the comments below and we'll see what floats to the top.
