When Lucy is feeling stubborn when we're on a walk, she lays down in someone's yard and refuses to move. This time, she wanted to watch someone load their car. She's also very fond of watching people unload their cars, as well as people mowing or doing any kind of yard work.
Haha! For grins, I even terrorized the dogs. But Denny was the only one who stood still long enough ... and that was for only one shot. Cats are much easier to harrass.
Someone gave me a plastic dog toy that looks like a bottle of beer. For some reason, I think it's absolutely hilarious to watch Lucy with it. This is a screen capture from a video:
And let me say again: Lucy is a rescue from Baja California. A rescue group brought her from there to So Cal, and when she wasn't adopted there, she was brought by another group to Oregon, and we adopted her, just after Christmas 2014, via PetSmart in Beaverton. Most chain pet stores in the USA show rescued dogs, and the volunteers that rescue and care for these dogs rack up thousands of dollars in expenses. Don't complain about the cost - hand the money over and take that beautiful dog home!
This is me with our new dog, Pedro. He's a whippet.. very small here and not quite grown into his nose yet!
* I love this photo of him- so gentle and timid.....awwww*
Today was chilly and rainy.
We put away the Christmas lights and decorations for the year and fixed some much-needed things around the house.
We apparantly were not the only ones feeling the blahs. Our rescue Pit Bull Butterfly was not her zoomy playful self all day and much rather wanted to stay sleeping on the couch than be in a photo today.
I can't blame her one bit.
Yeah, that's some super sweet eyes there...
Lucy the dog has been with us three weeks as of the day this photo was taken. She loves getting into our laps!
We constantly get asked, "What kind of dog is that?" A few times, we said, "A Baja Beach Dog", but we stopped because people actually thought that was an official breed. Now we say, "A Mexican Street Dog," and people seem to get it - she's a MUTT, the VERY BEST breed of dog!
Huge thank you to All Terrier Rescue (www.allterrierrescue.org/), which rescues much, much more than terriers, and to Beaverton Washington Square PetSmart, which brought her into our lives. Oh how we love her!
She would growl at me before she was two weeks old and even try to bite me when I picked her up but now she has decided that I'm the one she loves.
