The 103rd BAY TO BREAKERS RACE in SAN FRANCISCO with over 40,000 registered runners. Lots of fun. Lots of costumes. and some nudity !
OVERHEARD: "I can HEAR you!', older running nudist to the whispering & snickering of the crowd.
OVERHEARD: "Nudity fail. The folks who should not run nude, always do.",

OVERHEARD: "'Oh they run around the house naked, so it's no big deal seeing the naked runners in the Bay to Breakers:', mom with her kids on the sideline to some other attendees.
OVERHEARD: "The corn tortillas are easier to fling than the flour ones.", Jeffrey Eise , Bay to Breakers runner discussing the art of the flying tortilla at the beginning of the race.

Cornelius Vanderbilt called for the finest marble, and he got it. The marble columns in the two-story-high Great Hall have capitals carved of alabaster.
Priceless tapestries, fine mosaic work, irreplaceable paintings, and ornate furniture testify to the wealth of The Breakers' owners and their desire to flaunt it.
Designed by Richard Morris Hunt, who did a great many buildings in New England and particularly in Newport, the Breakers was built in only two years—hard to believe! The original cost was something like $11 million, equivalent to hundreds of millions of dollars today.
The Music Room was built and sumptuously decorated in real gold by artists and artisans in France, then disassembled, shipped across the Atlantic Ocean, and reassembled in Newport.
The Vanderbilt's wealth at that time was greater than U.S. Treasury.
The home of the code breakers of WWII. I visited recently, very interesting place!

The 101st running of the Bay to Breakers race occurred on May 20th, 2012. Hard to describe unless you witness it but more information can be found here:

Team 6357's 2023 FIRST Robotics Competition robot, "Breaker", seen balanced on the "Charging Station" at the end of a game during the FIRST in Texas District Space City @ Clear Lake robotics competition at Clear Falls High School, Clear Lake, Texas on April 2nd, 2023. The Team, "The Spring Konstant" from Dipping Springs High School, went on to qualify for the Texas State Championships and, later, the FIRST 2023 World Championships.
My first attempt at long exposure during the day, I found it really difficult. I must have taken 100 photos at all different settings these are the best two shots.
