Here is one of the trails at Emerson Point that I recently explored. If it weren't for that they are well-marked, I'd still be in there somewhere.
When you look at this photo, something might seem a little off. The path appears level yet distorted. Can you guess what it is? Spoiler, ...the boardwalk ascends a hill, it's not level. Once you know this, the sense of distortion disappears.
Our brain is the most complicated thing known to science. But neuroscientist can do all sorts of little test like this to point out the contours of aspects we are only beginning to understand. Check out this short demonstration of the blind spot which we have that the brain fills in. Most of us never even know we have one. I certainly didn't until a few days ago.
How smart are American crows? Smart enough to use tools, according to Cornell. Smart enough to work together to find food. Smart enough to collectively defend themselves against threats.
The American crow, Corvus Brachyrhynchos, is at once hated and admired. Hated as a nuisance; admired for its intelligence. The phrase, bird brain, doesn't quite carry the same insult when you think about the crow.
Crows are found in Florida year round, as they are in most of the country. There is a population that migrates northward to Canada to breed, but for the most part this bird tends to stay put throughout the year regardless of where it lives.
They are fairly large birds, with a stocky body and neck and stout bill. They can be be as long as 16 inches, with a wingspan that exceeds three feet. They are entirely black, from bill to toe. The tips of their wings spread like fingers in flight and are rounded.
Crows will eat just about anything. Insects, snails, worms, snakes, seeds and berries are on their menu. As are small birds, roadkill and garbage. They mostly forage on the ground but will scavenge in dumps and along roads.
Their normal habitat is farms, fields and open woods, but they are extremely adaptable and can get along just fine in city parks. They gather in huge numbers to roost in the winter — according to Cornell Laboratory of Ornithology, they can be in the hundreds to the millions.
They are loud birds, annoyingly loud, some might say. Their habits have driven some to dynamite their roosts hoping to get rid of them.
They nest high in shrubs and trees, either in a crotch where the trunk splits or at the base where limbs meet the trunk.

With Bulk growing increasingly orange and Stringer’s lack of unified color scheme, my belief is that Nex and Stringer underperformed in BREAKOUT as the two cheaper sets of the second wave and were cut from the lineup for the remainder of Hero Factory’s run.

With a helmet commissioned from @galva_nize_ I present BRAIN ATTACK Nex. He is of the same height class as Stormer and Surge and is equipped with an Energy Sword for melee combat and a shoulder mounted missile launcher (inspired by @ems_mocs) to fend off the evil Brains invading Makuhero City and the galaxy beyond.
I have taken great lengths to keep the design language of the other BRAIN ATTACK sets:
- Melee weapons
- Silver or Gunmetal secondary color
- Transparent armor piece
- Hero Core Clamp and Visor
This build also emulates the arm seen on his 2.0 form, only this time in silver! The shoulder addon is a bootleg part.
Building this MOC is honestly a dream come true for me. I’m glad I can finally give Nex the form he deserves.
The Brain
About a year ago, I came across an unexpected find in the Bay Area: a salt flat full of cracks and textures. Due to its resemblance to Badwater in Death Valley, Jave dubbed this location codename “Goodwater”.
On this evening, we were treated to quite a beautiful display of light from burning clouds to the west to medusa-like clouds to the east. While scouting the salt flat I came across this neat brain-like textured patch. I couldn’t help but get a few frames here as the light was going off. Full of crinkles, I really liked how the brain matter was contained within a giant U-shaped crack.

As some of you know I had a near fatal encounter with a brain tumor in 2010. My daughter found me unconscious and called 911. I thank her every day for saving my life!
Meningioma

I have been having some brain fog lately not able to focus on anything on the weekdays. It 's similar to this picture that I took at Mt Diablo two years ago. Perhaps I need to get out of the house and resume my daily walk routine. I might have overworked myself sitting in front the computer for too long.

It's the struggle to concentrate. Forgetfulness. Difficulty to solve problems. You lose track of conversations. Tasks that are simple can be difficult. Things you knew by heart get lost. It's like when making a simple old recipe I have to remind myself of each step, reading over and over again every line until it's done. I started experiencing Brain Fog sometime after my diagnosis. The signs were subtle and it took a while to realize that something had changed. Following directions, confusion to understand what I'm reading, forgetfulness, getting lost in the middle of conversations are part of my struggle. There are several moments I find myself in a conversation and suddenly my mind drags me to another place. My body is there. There's eye contact, but my mind is not there. The connection between me and the other person is slow. Sometimes it makes me feel embarrassed to ask people what we were talking about. Somehow I was present, but not present. It's like the mind is full of infinite boxes, one inside the other. The strangeness of this disease made me question myself about anything and everything in silence.
This is the shot that we'll be serving at the Halloween Party on Saturday.
It's called a Brain Hemorrhage - bet you can guess why.
Honestly, it looks ghastly, but tastes wonderful.

The drink goes like this.
1/2 - 3/4 oz. Peach Schnapps

Drop 1 tsp of grenadine through the Baileys.
