Bamboo is one of the main building materials in Myanmar.
Bamboo trunks are cut in flat pieces and then these are braided together to make bamboo mats that are used to build houses, shops, workshops walls, floors, fences, etc.

braid- wednesday ideas. i'd do the usually up-do we've seen for the past 5 weeks, but i think i'm getting a head ache from it. i was kinda at a loss for an idea today.

Inspired by the "Rapunzel Scarf" and unable to wait for all my yarn from the swap to arrive... I made one on a smaller scale. Much thinner. I like using it as a belt.

The Celtic Braid sock (pattern by Cabin Fever) - working up nicely! This heathered yarn is mostly plum but has a few colors in it, which you can see in good light. This is NOT a sock for knitting in dim light...
