Headlight bracket was cut from ubracket and then re-welded to u bracket one inch lower. Clip which held fairing was also removed. Bracket was then powder coated gloss black.
Look at the state of that! It looks like it has plastic cups on both sides, and either someone's been trying to drill it off, or it's been stored really badly. I really hope there's something left for a tool to slot into once the crank arms come off.
This is the housing with a bracket, ball bearings and mounting plate for the fan. Clearance between the blades and housing is tight so the bracket had to be perfectly aligned and centered.

Bracket fungus on our hike up Vroman's Nose, East Middleburgh, Historic and Beautiful Scoharie County, New York.
Feedscrew for 618, using Acme 1/2-10 below the existing leadscrew. This is a shot of the headstock bracket; it is composed of a piece of 1/4" square, a piece of 1/8" thick by 3/4" wide flat, and a piece of 3/4" x 3/4" angle iron, 1/8" thick, all welded together onto the side of the bearing mount. A bronze bushing is pressed into the bearing mount, and the Acme screw, turned down to 0.3125", slides into the bronze bushing.
Alder Bracket (Inonotus radiatus).
Growing from an alder near Rocher Bog, South Yorkshire. There were masses of brackets up one side of the tree, which appeared to still be alive.
