Answer to my last post: Can you guess what this is a picture of?

Kingdom:

Fungi

Family:

Polyporaceae

Common Names:

Bracket Fungus or Shelf Fungus, to describe the way they look when growing on trees.

Species:

My best guess here is, Laetiporus Sulphureus.

Commonly know as Chicken Mushrooms, because this spiecies of bracket is edible and they say it tastes like chicken. This could be the explanation of why this specimen is eroded and I can not exactly identify it.
