A printable replacement for the top bearing brackets. Includes side holes for captive-nut locking bearing in place.
This bracket fungi looks similar to Dryad's Saddle, except for the wavy edges. The fluted edges are interesting, but they also preclude me from identifying the species.

"blackout" film from
www.labeauratoire.com/film/index.html
of my dear friend Lance
This is the blackest black i've ever seen on a film. blacker than Scala.
i developed this film as a slide. As Lance told me, this film can be developed as slide with "normal" developers, such as Rodinal or Xtol, ecc.
i choose to go lith.

Bracket fungi, or shelf fungi, among many groups of the fungi in the Phylum Basidiomycota. Characteristically, they produce shelf- or bracket-shaped fruiting bodies called conks that lie in a close planar grouping of separate or interconnected horizontal rows. Brackets can range from only a single row of a few caps, to dozens of rows of caps that can weigh several hundred pounds. They are mainly found on trees (living and dead) and coarse woody debris, and may resemble mushrooms. Some form annual fruiting bodies while others are perennial and grow larger year after year. Bracket fungi are typically tough and sturdy and produce their spores, called basidiospores, within the pores that typically make up the undersurface.
These custom brackets will accept 1¾ inch steel tubing so I can mount things in front of the bumper.
Each of the Suburban's tow hooks are bolted to the frame in a way that seems almost like it was designed to be used for aftermarket brackets like these. The brackets are 2 inch steel tubing welded to steel plates that are secured between the tow hooks and the frame. Each bracket features cross holes with a nut welded on one side of the tube so telescoping support members can be bolted securely to the brackets.
The bracket tubing walls are 0.090 inches thick. I would have preferred 0.120 inches, but the thicker walls would not allow easy telescoping of 1¾ inch steel tubing. I'm not sure I trust the thin walled tubing for a single bracket, but these brackets will always be used in tandem, which I think will make them more reliable.

Ok I rocked up to this place at 8am (I don't usually organise my first shoot before 10am cos the sun is too low and strong in the sky), but I was asked to do this one urgently as the furniture was being moved out not long after I finished. So I turned up to this shoot to find real strong sunlight pouring through windows and black everything including ceiling, walls, floor, and funishings. I particularly liked the black ceiling because it made the 3 speedlites I own act like a small torch even with all 3 at full power 8-) lol. All I can say to these images is thank %$#@ for photoshop. Don't criticise my mirror hotspots because that was the last of my worries when I was there. It was the first time in 2 years where I actually said that I might have to come back at twilight 8-) Anyone else done a place like this? I seriously found this one harder than those all dark wood homes. These photo's might not make it look too hard to shoot but daaaaaamn
Growing at the base of a tree stump but in a very awkward place, so too difficult to inspect properly
DIY bracket with 2 Lastolite Ezy-box adapters and Chinese umbrella bracket. The Lastolite brackets come with brass M5 bushes, these were drilled & tapped to ¼" 20tpi UNF for compatibility with other lighting attachments. The secondary bar underneath stops the Lastolite bits from swivelling.
Successfully milled a mounting bracket out of (old) 1/8" plexiglass. Used a 1/8" single flute bit in a small rotary tool (think Dremel). Milled at 45ipm and 0.02" per pass. 9.3 minutes and a whole bunch of static clingy plastic shavings later, it was done!
