Dr Evadne Hinge and Dame Hilda Bracket were the stage names of George Logan and Patrick Fyffe respectively. The characters of Hinge (somewhat brittle and acerbic) and Bracket (more flamboyant) were elderly, intellectual, female musicians; in these personae the male Logan and Fyffe played and sang songs. They had the ability to bring humour into their songs, but could almost instantly switch to pathos with total sincerity. A genteel English inter-war world of cucumber sandwiches, bell ringing, church fetes and old-fashioned values was recalled through the act, although their work was frequently decorated with double entendres. The ladies shared a house (The Old Manse or Utopia Ltd.) in the fictional village of Stackton Tressel in Suffolk, where they amused themselves with recitals of Gilbert & Sullivan, Noel Coward and Ivor Novello.

The area in the circle is where the pedal bracket needs to be trimmed if using the stock footbox sheet metal - approximately like the line shows. You can grind it at an angle until the sheet metal clears. Most of the metal will come from the black pedal bracket - the blue bracket may also need to get trimmed a little.

After finishing I decided it would be usefult to mount it to a firm base. Since this was an afterthought, I couldn't find brackets which were the right size. So I 3D printed some!

Large bracket or shelf fungi are common in mature forests. Some of their fruiting bodies may grow for many years on the trunks of living or dead trees. Their upper surface is leathery or woody. Like the boletes, they have pores on their undersides.
