Postland Signal Box in November 2005. A remarkable survivor although it has seen better days. This is on the former line between March and Spalding that closed in November 1982. There are other boxes on this line that survive at Murrow, French Drove and Cowbit. Plans have been mentioned to reopen this line, but the opening of the A16 over a section of the old line make this look unlikely.
I have lost at least one full crop of strawberries, and could not figure out who was getting them. Especially after a rain, the plants would be trampled, and ALL the ripening berries gone. Alex found a pair of terrapin robbers yesterday, with the evidence all over their faces.
FIELD MARK-The box turtle or box tortoise is a genus of turtle native to North America (United States and Mexico). The 12 taxa which are distinguished in the genus are distributed over four species. It is largely characterized by having a domed shell, which is hinged at the bottom, allowing the animal to close its shell tightly to escape predators.
Let's be honest, the economy stinks right now - and our schools are in need of as much help as possible. Hope and I are collecting box tops for her school. If you would like to help out send us your box tops:

This is the lid-off version. Item is affixed to the passenger-side strut tower of a 2009 Mustang GT/CS, bolted-on through two holes that are bare in some models.
The car has HID headlamps. I have the wiring diagrams and shop manuals, but haven't made an effort to discover what this thing does. (Possibly the "Fog Lamps" relays? NOPE). This is called "Auxiliary Relay Box 1", and it controls the HID headlamps. Mystery solved.
Numbers on the two plugged-in items are:
F57B-14B192-AA
A small relay, ubiquitous among Ford models.
Inside the lid:
E-434E / E -1826C EPC
There is another matched pair of relays somewhere in the car, for the Heated Seats, left and right.
This is the box I just finished working on. It has three layers to the flower on top with a little bead in the center.

I did this as part of a novelty course. It was the first time I was able to really carve the buttercake recipe I use.
The Cooler Box I found on Luce Bayou balanced on my Ascend H12 Kayak.
The box was left behind when the flood waters from Hurricane Harvey receded.
All the footage from the Where's TJ film shoot back in 2008. This is the little box I keep all the tapes in.
WHERE'S TJ is the sequel to Where's Pete and is about two best friends and one gets kidnapped.

This box was a gift from my Grandma Jeanne to my Grandfather Daniel in December of 1924, when they'd been married a few years. It's always been on my mother's desk, and in Cairo, she had it fitted with a wrought iron frame. When we moved here to Brooklyn, she gave it to us and now it's got all our wedding memories in it.
It is, needless to say, very precious to me. I never met my grandfather but I remember Grandma Jeanne well - and the spidery, neat handwriting dedicating the box on the inside reminds me of her.
Box I made to send my portfolio in for the Time Inc. Internship with REAL SIMPLE! I hope they like it!! (it looks cooler in person, theres a lot of subtle details that real simple better pick up on!)
Also, I'm sending it in on 1/1/11! I hope that brings me some luck!
The VR inscription on this post box denotes that it was manufactured during the reign of Queen Victoria (1837 - 1901).
There is a small metal plaque at the top stating that it was installed at nearby Sarratt Vale in 1907 before being relocated here.
So it may have been somewhere else first, but quite likely that it was held by the GPO for a few years before being installed.

I always find this box intriguing. The first handful of times I visited the Olympic Sculpture park i didn't even notice it. Its not very large and sits ambiguously next to a concrete bench. I wonder what is inside?
