Not the last phone box picture you'll see... But at least this one is all color! Give me credit!
This was right outside the little shop where I bought souvenirs on my first trip to Avebury 4 years ago. I remember it well because it was in complete shadows and I'm not sure I even bothered.

FIELD MARK-The box turtle or box tortoise is a genus of turtle native to North America (United States and Mexico). The 12 taxa which are distinguished in the genus are distributed over four species. It is largely characterized by having a domed shell, which is hinged at the bottom, allowing the animal to close its shell tightly to escape predators.

The VR inscription on this post box denotes that it was manufactured during the reign of Queen Victoria (1837 - 1901).
There is a small metal plaque at the top stating that it was installed at nearby Sarratt Vale in 1907 before being relocated here.
So it may have been somewhere else first, but quite likely that it was held by the GPO for a few years before being installed.

I always find this box intriguing. The first handful of times I visited the Olympic Sculpture park i didn't even notice it. Its not very large and sits ambiguously next to a concrete bench. I wonder what is inside?
I hadn't made a "recycled baby-wipe box" for awhile and decided to make one for a friend's birthday present. I did extra embellishment on the top with white enamel paints, micro glitters, and Swarovski crystals.

This box was a gift from my Grandma Jeanne to my Grandfather Daniel in December of 1924, when they'd been married a few years. It's always been on my mother's desk, and in Cairo, she had it fitted with a wrought iron frame. When we moved here to Brooklyn, she gave it to us and now it's got all our wedding memories in it.
It is, needless to say, very precious to me. I never met my grandfather but I remember Grandma Jeanne well - and the spidery, neat handwriting dedicating the box on the inside reminds me of her.
Personal study for my concept class. How can i make an object interesting by creating an inspiring environment. What's in the box? What is these people's connection to the box? What's the band between these people. Use your imagination and let your feelings create your own proper story...
Made from a $3 craft box I found at Michaels, which I then embroidered on. Astroman is embroidery, the rest is just paint. I also added some lining to make it a bit more plush inside.

Photography and cardboard box pertaining to a work that I developed before about the waste of the cities, that subsequently came to be used like packing to send by post another product.

time is passing by way too fast
the past week hasn't been a good one. It was full of pain in the arse and worries.
What you can see in here is our little Gecko lady Getrud in a box under a lamp (to give her at least a little bit of warmth). She suffered from necrosis in her tail after she had been bitten by her sister in a little fight a few days before. She needed to see a doctor the first time (and hopefully the last) in her life. Was a bit complicated though because, of course, the qualified reptile vet wasn't available at that time so that other vets tried their best during the days until the specialist came back. Now she's fine again. She still is 'in quarantine' in her box for a few days until we put her back into the terrarium.
