...and what a nice box it is!! It once had books in it!!
Even more fascinating, is the fact that this was found on the Stoned Weed Road.
By Tomoko Fuse.
I didn't realise this at the time, but every single box Tomoko-san displayed was filled with some sort of origami treasures. How wonderful!

The base of the origami gift box using 8x12" scrapbooking sheets and this tutorial - www.youtube.com/watch?v=cYSksmSLCmQ Easy peasy and looks great. Used to house some of my knitting to gift to a co-worker who is now in her final stages of pregnancy.
I've had this jewelry box since i was 10. My dad bought it for my birthday. It has my name inscribed on it which I always thought was the coolest because I can never find anything with my name on it. I still use it.
I opened it one day to find the ballerina inside looking at herself.
Inside the box or, shall I say, the box, is a shape shifting creature perfectly evolved to catch its prey in the greedy, grabby, 30th century. The flashing light quickly hypnotizes the victim into see whatever they want most in the world dangling from the tentacle luring them close enough for the box to absorb.

Five cute little boxes, measuring approximately 1.25x1.25x3/4 inches and made of beautiful, luxurious, textured yuzen chiyogami paper. They're the perfect size for rings or earrings. I've glued the inside tabs to make them sturdier, although the paper is a nice, full-bodied weight. Lids are printed, boxes are coordinating solid colors.
I usually ship within 24 hours, and happily ship internationally (I'll refund any excess shipping charges). If you order more than one set of boxes, I will adjust the shipping price since I can get more boxes into one shipping container and they weigh almost nothing.
Top view: The five dots are just small segments of dowel tapped into shallow holes. A nice easy way to give the otherwise plain top a bit of style. I give credit to my wife for this variation on that theme. I had something else in mind, but this is better.

For all the packaging thumbnails (book & box) I am mainly just playing around with type placement and a few design element ideas. So I need help on choosing what sort of layout works best or would be most interesting. I do want to keep things clean and simple as far as type and layout, but when it comes to illustration, that's where I want the eye to go immediately. As far as illustrations, they aren't complete, but I have them going in a certain direction to best fit the logo and the plot of each book.

My pill boxes on the end of my bed. I was on blood thinners and two other kinds of medicines. Now, I'm just counting the days (or, months) when I'll be off of those pills completely. I wish to thank all of ya' all for all your prayers and well wishes while I was off line. "All of ya' all " is just good Southern English! Ha ha ha ha!

This is a nice reproduction of a Chinese traditional pillow. Used for good neck support as well as secret storage.
One of the best little books I ever read is from Japan, 'The Pillow Book of Sei Shonogan.' Written in the 10th C Japanese court by a courtesan and kept hidden in her pillow box, she wrote delightful lists and observations..
ODC friends, another faithful member of ODC visited me here in Mendocino last weekend. You can glimpse our little meet up in the set, 'Eliza's Visit.'
