It's been a while since I put myself in hiatus, running away from, er, almost everything?

I spent a good fine day going back to my photos in my HDD and I realized that I'd lost "it." Those photos I took before are mostly of random things I met, or of flowers, or of my friends, and so on. I took them because I found something interesting in them and I wanted to keep a memo about them. It used to be photos that I could look at and thought "Ah, that other day, I remember..." but sadly, they eventually turned into "Hm, is this angle alright? Is the color fine?" ~ I found my recent photos empty even though I'd given 10, 20, sometimes 100 takes for just one boring setting!

I don't want that.

I started taking photos not because I wanted to be a pro. I took them because I like keeping memory, and I took them because I need materials for my stories (come to think about it, I couldn't write as much as before...)

Anyway, I'll try to reset myself, putting me back to the begin line. I'll take photo as I like to and forget about all the "this should turn out good" thingy, anyway, who cares if it's good or not? Let's see if it works : )

Chocolate box story:

I went to South Coast Plaza the other day, not really intended to buy anything, just a window shopping trip. But when I saw See's candy store, I thought it would be nice if I treat myself a little better (ah, I've been stressed out since last month and in recovery now). So I bought me a box of chocolate with flavors I like. I ate 2 already, they were delicious.

I spent a lot of my pocket money in manga, too. Well, it was overspent already.

Anyway, this kept me in okay mood for two days, so I think this should be fine.

I'll be fine.

P.S.: Thank you, Joel, for the flickrmail. I couldn't reply you at that time, but it did really help me : )

I love the colors in this one. Taken during our guided tour of the McCurdy Smokehouse.

The smokehouse closed in 1991. A significant loss for the town of Lubec, Maine. The buildings have been partially restored for guided tours.

When I was in grade school and invited to a birthday party, I would go to our cousin’s country grocery store and get a cigar box and fill it with candy. It cost next to nothing comparatively and every recipient liked it. When I turned 50, my friend Teresa reciprocated with this Tampa Nugget box. ANSH Round 142

Each year, Gallery Route One in Point Reyes invites over a hundred artists to create unique works of art using a wooden box.

Here are the inspiring artworks they created this year: they range in style from whimsical to poignant and thought-provoking. These photos were taken on closing day, when the gallery organized a live auction for each of this year’s 150 boxes. The proceeds support the gallery’s exhibits and community programs.

Two of the boxes were created by members of our art community: Howard Rheingold (a.k.a. Dr. Rindbrain) contributed an illuminated box called ‘Magical’, while Geo Monley and Meryl Rubenstein made ‘Les Puzzles.’

Members of ‘Pataphysical Studios came to cheer for their peers -- Dr. Really was the highest bidder for Dr. Rindbrain’s piece, which was thus kept in the family. After the show, we all went to Stellina to celebrate over a nice dinner.
