Trying to tidy away all my tools and leatherwork kit, decided I needed a box to store my beeswax block in, and that led to making a box to hold my number punches.

Each year, Gallery Route One in Point Reyes invites over a hundred artists to create unique works of art using a wooden box.
Here are the inspiring artworks they created this year: they range in style from whimsical to poignant and thought-provoking. These photos were taken on closing day, when the gallery organized a live auction for each of this year’s 150 boxes. The proceeds support the gallery’s exhibits and community programs.
Two of the boxes were created by members of our art community: Howard Rheingold (a.k.a. Dr. Rindbrain) contributed an illuminated box called ‘Magical’, while Geo Monley and Meryl Rubenstein made ‘Les Puzzles.’
Members of ‘Pataphysical Studios came to cheer for their peers -- Dr. Really was the highest bidder for Dr. Rindbrain’s piece, which was thus kept in the family. After the show, we all went to Stellina to celebrate over a nice dinner.

Whilst browsing throught the book bazaar in the old city I came across some children peering into a box with great fascination. I wondered what was capturing their interest. A mother suckling her kittens. The mother had a very friendly demeanour despite nurturing her children and didn't mind being stroked.

As we were leaving the Striegls' apartment (Frank's family), I noticed that all the apartments had milk boxes for milk deliviries. Frank told us they don't get milk delivered, but having never seen one before, I thought it was cool!

Our 18 year old cat has always liked boxes, but he has recently taken to sleeping in this one especially.
This is gift for my partner's parents.
The theme is 'Family Time' featuring family of lady bugs (mother, father, daughters and son) "W" initial is the first letter of my partner's family name.
Material : Memory box from Kaiser, the "w" letter is from Diaso, the ladybugs and bubble sticker from Spotlight, the 3-D herb stickers from Midori-Japan (Kinokuniya Bookstore Singapore).
At Harpsden, Oxfordshire, a K6 telephone kiosk, now home to the 'Wonky Book Box'. Although, everything looks a bit wonky! Also, a Queen Elizabeth II wallbox stands alongside.
Newfoundland is called "The Rock" for good reason. The bedrock of the Canadian Shield is never far beneath the surface of the soil. With such shallow soil, many of the power poles require additional anchoring by boxes of rocks above the surface. The trees are also stunted for lack of soil.

Theater District, Midtown Manhattan
The Music Box Theater survives today as one of the historic playhouses that symbolize American theater for both New York and the nation. Constructed shortly after the end of World War I, the Music Box was built by producer Sam Harris to house Irving Berlin's Music Box Revues.
Sam Harris was a legendary Broadway producer, who first reached fame through his successful partnership with George M. Cohan, and then collaborated with Irving Berlin and later with Kaufman and Hart. Irving Berlin is among the greatest and best-known American songwriters of this century. Together they staged Berlin's Music Box Review for the first five years of the 1920s.
C. Howard Crane was a nationally prominent theater architect when Harris and Berlin hired him, along with his associate E. George Kiehler, to design the Music Box. Besides his two Broadway houses (the Music Box and the Guild -- now the Virginia), he designed legitimate theaters and grand movie palaces in cities across the country, and later in England.
The Music Box Theater represents a special and important aspect of the nation's theatrical history. Beyond its historical importance, its facade is an unusually handsome Palladian-inspired design.
