A beautiful biscuit box, perfect for keeping on display and using to store and serve biscuits. During the Second World War, when England was threatened with invasion by Germany, hundreds of these pill boxes were erected to defend the east coast counties. In most cases the walls are solid concrete, about four feet thick and they have survived because they were just too hard to demolish.
I popped out to post a letter and this is what I found - a black (and defunct) post box. Not only are they closing all our post offices but they seem to be starting on the post boxes too. Help!
The box contains an electron tube. It is very serious. Do not get up to any nonsense with this finely wrought and delicately assembled electronic component. Seriously. Or Tung-Sol the Barbarian Engineer will shoot thunderbolts through your skull.

Plywood is made by gluing together thin sheets of wood called veneers, with the grain of each sheet running in an alternate direction. This creates a material that is stronger and more flexible than solid wood. The technique has been around for a long time – as early as 2600 BC in ancient Egypt – but it was not until the 1850s that plywood started to be used on an industrial scale.
Featuring groundbreaking pieces by Alvar Aalto, Marcel Breuer and Charles and Ray Eames, alongside an incredible range of objects from planes to skateboards, this exhibition told the story of how this often-overlooked material made the modern world.

This week, I continued to work on this project, a heart-shaped box that I am covering with collage and decoupage designs created from printed metallic ribbons. This is how the project looked today when I was finished working on it. This photo shows the inside of the box (the part I am working on now) as well as the inside of the box top (already complete). The process is slow, but I can see progress, and I am happy about the way the bright red color looks.
Some times ago I've found this little collection of old boxes in a house of a friend of mine. It looked interesting!
This box was made for a friend that is 'Camo' mad as a special 50th birthday present. It's now going to be the home for his cuff links etc

I painted the trinket box with a base coat of black acrylic paint. The bottom part of the box I splatter painted with yellow, violet and magenta acrylic paint. The entire box has a sealant on it. The top has a wired sun adhered to the top made from copper and red wire.
The box has magnets that lock the top to the bottom. The top of the box has the following quote: Searh For Your Dreams on the inside.
