The 30 lever Saxby & Farmer (1874 Patent) 'Rocker' frame of 30 levers in Ancaster box would appear to have been second-hand as the frame dates from 1887, but the box itself opened on 1st December 1873.
Can anyone explain why some of the levers have only been painted white halfway down. Are they no longer in-use but have been kept to maintain the locking in the frame?
Sorry buddy, no means no! This male box turtle was attempting to mate with this female, but she thwarted his efforts by retreating into her shell (she was already in her shell when I encountered them). If the female was carrying eggs, they were probably already fertilized which is a possible reason for the rejection. Female box turtles can store sperm for months or even years, but I am not sure if they do so when their current clutch is already fertilized. Maybe one of you can help answer this question?? Shot with a 300mm lens. -MA
More boxes made from recycled wool sweaters. The brown, blue and orange fabric is a vintage print. Glass beads accent the corners where they've been nipped and tucked. See my profile for more info.
The Grade II-listed box, framed by the footbridge. The latter is in a rather delicate state, such that only one person is allowed on it at a time (and it is kept padlocked).
little box with lit.
I decided to make something completely different, so this little box
( or whatever you want to name it) was born. It was so much fun to make it ,so I made three other boxes as well.
The box measures about 6 /7 cm. diameter and is for 100% made of polymerclay.
Sorry people, I thought I could post some more photos of the Moleskine Surprise Boxes tonight but I screwed up with the photos I took today. The colors were just plain wrong under office lighting. I'll just post here a sepia preview first, hopefully I will be able to find a good spot to take photos again during the day. Stay tuned.

4x5 built for my 65mm lens. I need to shorten both boxes with a table saw, it currently can only focus out about half a meter.

Hard to believe, but I actually ran out of yarn while making this doll, so I had to wait for this box to arrive.

The new Dongfeng Box is one of the cheapest electric cars in the Netherlands. For the first time Dongfeng is selling cars here under its own brand name. The Box will be competing with the Dacia Spring and the new Citroën ë-C3.
The challenge was to take a photo with a not so good camera but to try and do the best you can.I think my try out with the kodak did the trick.......

Modified to two dollar bills from two squares.
I prefer to match the original model as close as possible, but in this case I was short on paper and had to make a few adjustments. I still like the final result, resembles a candy and still holds together with a minimum amount of folds. This is a simple and easy box to make. I raised the lid 1/8" for easy opening.
Crediton (West), is still wearing faded BR(WR) brown & cream in this 1977 photo. This box; along with Crediton East; opened on 2nd June 1875, and both were to the LSW Type 1 design. West contained a Stevens & Sons Tappet frame of 22 levers. East box was reduced to a Ground Frame in 1913 and closed completely in June 1970. The line beyond here to Coleford Junction, Copplestone and Meldon Quarry was singled in October 1971. An NX Panel was installed in the box in December 1984 when the remaining double track between Crediton and Cowley Bridge Junction was singled, Crediton then becoming a passing station on the single line to Barnstaple.
O.K. ... Here is the question? ... this was all handpainted, just drawn onto the box freehand & then painted, these are my own original designs... So does this classify as a handpainted Zentangle? :) ........... THANKS TO ALL OF YOU FOR YOUR COMMENTS ... AND NOW I WILL TELL YOU THAT I PAINTED THESE PIECES TWENTY YRS. AGO! ... ANYWAY, THANKS FOR TAKING THE TIME OUT OF YOUR DAY TO LOOK & COMMENT ON MY PIECES, IT MEANS SO MUCH TO ME TO KNOW THAT YOU ENJOY LOOKING AT MY WORK AS MUCH AS I LOVE LOOKING AT YOURS! :)
