The former Fry's/Cadbury's factory at Keynsham was closed with some acrimony in 2011. The closure was announced by Cadbury in 2007 with production moving to Poland.
During the Kraft takeover, it was suggested by them that the site could be saved, perhaps trying to curry public favour and influence any political decision. Once completed, Kraft confirmed it would close anyway.
It is now being rebuilt as apartments.
Small painted wooden box with glass embellishments. The swallowtail image under the large glass is a photograph of my own raised swallowtails in my garden-
width 3.9'(10 cm), height 1.8'(4.5 cm) -
Inside the box a small decorated massage pebble from the banks of the Jordan river.
Also inside a hand beaded necklace with glass beads in blues and turqoise.
The inside of the box has a lining of turqoise Chinese silk.
If I were to continue to use the full size pieces that I used on the sides, I would only have room for 8 diamonds and 12 triangles. Not enough room for the design that I want on the top. So I will use half size pieces and have 16 diamonds and 24 triangles to make my “Aunt Sukeys Choice” quilt pattern. After laying the pieces out I glue on the first two as a unit.
The Florida box turtle is a subspecies of eastern box turtle (Terrapene carolina) that is endemic to Florida and a small portion of Georgia. It differs from the other subspecies of eastern box turtles in that its carapace has a pattern of bright radiating yellow stripes rather than blotches. I found this turtle near a trail in a state park after I heard a faint rustling sound. The turtle boxed up and only stuck its nose out slightly before I gave up waiting, and returned him to the undergrowth. He was clearly a male from the shape of his plastron, but I was not able to get a good look at his eye color. Males usually have red eyes.
Not toooo much done yet, but I've got here: 1 spinning bin, 1 yarn bin, 8 smaller boxes of books and yarn, 1 coffee grinder and 1 air filter. Long way to go.

This is my sweet little boy, Sampson. He's not the brightest crayon in the box lol, but what he lacks in brain power he makes up for in love. :) And playfulness! lol

Box Briar (Randia aculeata) - Pine Glades Lake, Long Pine Key camping area, Evergaldes National Park, Homestead, Florida
A handsome shrub that may likely have been named the Box Briar because on a good percentage of the plants the flowers have 4 petals (and you know how the human brain likes to connect the dots).
Do you remember the "connect the dots" books that made an actual industry out of that? !
Day 271/365
Today's trip to Ikea was a really successful trip, although it reminded me of the problem with Ikea: it's awesome in theory, but when you're standing in the warehouse trying to identify the correct box containing your Billy Bookcase, it kind of sucks.
This little box, which measures 2.25" high, is decorated with a technique known as cloisonne which dates back to the 14th century, although this of course is modern.
The technique involves soldering gold wire to a metal base and then filling the spaces with enamel. After firing the work is ground to a smooth finish and polished.
The Chinese are expert at this kind of work and most of cloisonne comes from China.
This was actually a lighting test for a studio shoot with a little girl. I liked what I was seeing through the viewfinder so much, I more carefully arranged and shot the flowers.
