Keep those bows and boxes
Keep those three wise men
No need for a North star
To show me where I will end
'Cause all I ever wanted
Isn't on a shelf and
Santa, can't you hear me?

He's been gone twenty years tomorrow
And I'm still holdin' on to one wish
That God above could let me borrow Grandpa
For one more afternoon and one more fish...

this old box still sparkles not sure of the history of this box but definitely is over 20 years old and probably close to 60 years old and hopefully be around much longer.
The vineyard next door is going through the autumnal change and the vines are gradually going dormant. Also dormant is the honesty box that resides at the entrance to the vineyard. During the summer and early fall, the box is usually overflowing with fruits and vegetables harvested from our individual gardens and orchards. The concept is to give a little, and to take a little. It's a nice form of neighborly kindness. I truly feel that in these times of global and national upheaval, local esprit de corps is critical to keeping our world sane.

I was lacking a bit of inspiration with too many boxes to choose from when I thought of this. She was such a good girl! And was 'rewarded' :) 🐾💕
With heartfelt and genuine thanks for your kind visit. Have a beautiful day, be well, keep your eyes open, appreciate the beauty surrounding you, enjoy creating, stay safe, and laugh often! ❤️❤️❤️
My attempt at the "Looking Close... on Friday" theme "Old Boxes".

On an lightly overcast summer morning, Brownie, my tortoise-shell cat, keeps watch over the backyard of the house next door, from one of the cats' favorite perches—the old wooden rabbit hutch outside my bedroom window. The family next door has several small dogs, and the cats like to watch their high-energy morning play from the plywood top of the old hutch, safely situated behind the fence.

The still very active ex-GWR signal box at Liskeard in Cornwall, adds to its list of duties by taking on the role of backdrop for some of the glorious pink roses that abound the station just now.
Sorry, no trains in this one......

Little boxes on the hillside,
Little boxes made of tickytacky,
Little boxes on the hillside,
Little boxes all the same
