This was during the cold snap we had in January. It was very cold the day I taped this. I think he is trying to get warm.
A Sloe Bug trundles around in a flower of Saponaria officinalis flore plena. This plant was at one time used to wash very delicate fabrics, hence the common name Soapwort.
Daughter dropped it .. phone recorded it. Demonstrates the vertical p mode of oscillation after impact (for physics types who might be intrigued).
St Mary, Creeting St Mary, Suffolk

Hilltop church, visible for miles and a familiar sight from the A14. There were once two churches in the churchyard, but when All Saints fell into ruin they demolished it and built an aisle on St Mary.
St Mary has a fabulous range of Kempe glass, probably the best in Suffolk. There is also a very good 1950s window by Brian Thomas.
This used to be a very difficult church to get into. I have been trying on and off for ten years! But there seems to have been a change of heart.
A pleasure yacht seen traversing the Alameda Canal out of the San Francisco Bay waters. During this commute time, this yacht has to avoid the ferries as well as the bigger tugboats and container ships.

The persistent hail of 1/2 inch diameter prompted me to call in a report to the National Weather Service to advise of the event. Reports such as these help to warn the public of storm intensification and a direct ground resource for meteorologists to use for diagnostic purposes.
