Macro Mondays - Bottoms Up

I was quite busy early in the week, so I didn't even start thinking about this theme until Saturday. I struggled to think of something interesting and original. I discussed it with my wife and still had nothing. Then it hit me. I have used lavender in my Macro Mondays photos for the past two weeks, so I decided to make it three in a row. I have been transplanting lavender starts and the roots (bottom of the plant) are interesting. I took this photo in front of a large lavender plant, so there is bokeh lavender in the background. HMM

My little DSC-RX100 is enjoying the summer. ;-)

I wish you all a HMM and a great week.

I ran out of time today after early morning volunteer work and long work hour.

Came home saw my twins drinking water in the bottoms up manner from their pink bottles. Took one of it held it up against the ceiling light and took the shot from bottom. Effect is rather nice with a mix of colors The ring you saw is the opening of the bottle.

This is for the Macro Mondays theme of Bottoms Up. Pictured are the bottom of three nail polish bottles, each 1" across. I haven't looked at the bottom since I was picking them out and needed to see what the name of the colour was. We have "Champagne", "Iris" and the ever popular "Baie Sauvage".

....from underneath a dahlia.... spent a day in the garden, largely gardening, but got the camera out and came up with this. Shot it with Macro Mondays in mind but I got impatient and posted up.... Perhaps somewhat scarily 'high key' for me, but what the heck, nice to have a go.

This is a small Japanese metal candle holder I found. Could also be a tiny vase and someone poured some wax into it, not sure. Lol.

This is the bottom of a souvenir bowl which I bought in Cyprus many years ago. The bowl stands on the black rim - I didn't realize there was a label there until I turned it bottom up.

I don't know what this particular bird is trying to find ? But it's got to be down there somewhere!

" I'll need a snorkel soon ! " this bird was heard muttering earlier!

kind of a wierd bug. check out my other shot and you can see its BIG “EYES”. Bottoms Up! ----By the way it is not dead, it just plays dead and rolls over like that, then it clicks and pops right side up to scurry on its way.----

This is the underside of a little dragon statue that I've had for ages. I was surprised by how cool it looked upside down, it's always nice to get a new perspective on things :)

I also made sure that it was under 3", it's a very small dragon statue.

If only this replacement lid was bigger than Macro Mondays' 3 inch size limit; it would then have caused less frustration, as it may have fitted the kettle it was purchased for!!!

No speedlights/flashes were used to light the bottom of this cup (set upside-down on a paper napkin) at a hotel in Osaka, Japan. Light coming through the window was the only source of light. On the opposite side, the light was reflected back to the cup by a white towel.
